I just got done getting my new installation of windows up and running (windows 7 ultimate x64). And idk if its just me but it runs and looks great (i have everything maxed out- screen set to 4:3 1600x1200). Tends to be a lot smoother than my xp pro 32 bit was. Mostly i only notice is a great big leap in clarity and shiny/pristine textures.
My system:
CPU- 3.4ghz dual core
Mobo- evga nforce 730i/hybrid sli 9300gt (runs my physics and some graphics)
VGA- 1gb 9800gt
RAM-6gigs
HD-500gb 7200rpm WD caviar black
Cooling- water cooled
So you're telling us your entire pc is watercooled.
Wow you can play a old game.

Old but still great.
He's sharing the fack that HL2 works on Windows 7.

If HL2 used the most up to date engine, I wonder if a computer could handle it.
Fallout 3?
If it works on Vista, then it should work on 7.
WTF why is my avatar changed?

I was only trying to say that windows 7 seems to run hl2 better than XP. Sure its an old game, does that mean it can't run smoother and nicer on a much newer OS as most would suspect it would? And there's no need for your sarcasm pointing out the fact its an old game we aren't idiots.
Seeing as though Windows 7 handles system hardware and tasks better than XP it really should be no surprise.
Never really noticed a difference in Source games when I went from XP to Windows 7. And theoretically, would there be any (besides little framerate differences that don't matter anyway because every modern day rig runs HL2 at 100+ fps)?
Wait why does everybody have David Hasselhoff avatars?

yea what the hell
Haha I just noticed all of them are changing as I browse all of FP.:aaaaa:
64 bit HL2 is unstable as fuck for me. It keeps disabling AI and sometimes I fall through the floor :rolleye:
Runs like a dream on 32 bit mode though of course.

Mine isn't :smug:

Maybe you should know more about a topic before you start stating anything. If you must know in GD on maybe Thursday(not sure when it was) firerain had a thread where if you went into it your avatar would automatically change to a random hoff avatar and I still have mine due to my laziness. Their maybe be an OIFY thing about the hoff but not everyone with a hoff avatar has any relation to the OIFY.
What's your FPS?
>screen set to 4:3 1600x1200)
wow....
[QUOTE=JohnEdwards;18236189]>screen set to 4:3 1600x1200)

You do know that is an 4:3 resolution fool.

Hasslehoff strikes again.
Thanks, I wanted to know if Source would work with 7.
It's odd, in Vista x64 facial expressions refused to work for me. But in 7 x64 everything works fine?
Vista wouldn't let me install x64 windows 7 :saddowns:
