Its a strategy game released in 2001. You are a god, you take control over villages across several islands. Black & White has a pretty unique gameplay element, its a creature that you can raise and teach. The game was highly anticipated and overall well received but now no-one remembers it. There were 3 creatures to chose: The Cow, The Tiger and The Ape There's an expansion, Creature Isle were it envolves your creature, obviously. Also very good graphics and 2 new creatures, the Wolf and the Lion. This time you control greek towns. There are 4 creatures to chose from: The Cow, The Lion, The Ape and The Wolf. Wich envolves you fighting against another god like in Black & White also, 2 new creatures, the Tiger and the Turtle(!!). Also almost forgot in all B&W games depending on your actions you will be good or bad, your creature will act as you teach him and so will you town look like. I just tought I would make a thread for people to remember these awesome games, as I just started replaying them. I wish they would make a third one.
I remember Black and White... I spent so many hours on it...
Moulinex stop making Fables and make B&W3 already (not on Kinect, please). The first one was the best in my opinion, but the second one was awesome too.
im doing battle of the gods right now, i can not fucking build in this rain urrg
DEATH... On a related note it shall say your name if it's common.
They're working on a game called "From Dust" which is supposed to be a spiritual sequel to them.
These games are so fucking awesome, cannot wait for From Dust.
i didnt know about from dust, that looks fucking awesome. Insta buy.
I always get about halfway through Black and White 2 and then just get bored. I really should just finish the damn thing.
This game was awesome for throwing rocks at cities.
Disciple Breeder. Disciple Breeder. Disciple Breeder. Disciple Breeder. Disciple Breeder.
I lost my 3rd install disk for the second game, I want to play really badly :smith: I remember getting so mad when the Chinese used those sirens after I built a HUGE fucking army.
This is From Dust, and yes the liquid physics/animations do look fucking awesome. Hope they show it off in E3.
I don't know.. the first one had something mysterious about it. The second one lacked that. But I spent so much time with B&W1, good times. also..
For me, the first one was much, much harder than the 2nd. (Though, I were a few years younger on the first one). The 2nd one was really fun aswell, but it was never the same as the first one. I haven't tried the expansions for B&W2 though, maybe Battle of the Gods would be more like the first B&W.
Great concept but it was poorly executed. Well it certainly had it's charm but the lack of skirmishes and gamemodes besides of the campaign was bad. Also controlling armies was a pain in the ass. Still great game though.
Nostalgia!

I'm on the first land and its a pain in the ass because the other god is so picky about being evil that he wants night and rain.
Oh yes someone made this thread.
why is there no black and white 3?
Why does everyone say the first is better? I've played both, and the second one just seems better to me. :raise: [editline]fuck you[/editline] I can't have an opinion apparently. Okay.
These games were the shit. I even thought the two annoying angel and demon guys were funny.
i'm currently looking at my collectors edition right now god fuck, i love this game.. i just wish it had more levels BRING OUT A THIRD GAME PLEASE!!
So many hours spent in these games, with Creature Isle taking up the majority(Your creature is fucking gigantic by the end of that quest chain) The first one was undoubtedly superior. The Second seemed like it moved too far away from the concept. You couldn't even take towns my chucking random shit over their roofs and then 'accidentally' torching the store house. It was either take by force, or have them all move to your already overcrowded starting city. Not to mention the creature seemed like it had a personality in the first one. In the second, it was an easily programmed robot. And that bitch who did the Death whisper used to haunt my dreams.
yea, i like the belif system much more in the first, and i really dont like how fast your creature evolves in the second, never the less i enjoyed both
Looking at Black and White 2 screenshots, the game still looks very nice today. I never played the first one, but I liked the second. Shame it had no multiplayer though.
Loved playing this. Awesome how I got the first game out of a bargain bin for my birthday from my dad. Twas a good birthday indeed.
Love these games, my creature was always really puny for most of the first though. I wish I hadn't got rid of number 2. I spotted the Collectors Edition in GAME for a fiver recently, waited three days for the sales crowds to dissipate, thinking no one would buy it seeing as the majority were 12 year old boys trying to convince their mums to buy them 18 rated games, but when I went in it was gone. I was heartbroken :saddowns:
hmm, I didn't know you could press S in B&W2 to see people's info
