Your favourite features in Source and what you want to see in the future

Post what you like from the Source engine, also what you want in the next updates (Or in a new Valve engine).
Physics, of course. Also i love the morph thingy (From Ravenholm, where the gas tank is, with a valve to toogle it, with the gas morphing your view.).
I want dynamic watah and real-time volmetric lights in HL3.
The Source SDK's ease of use.
Dynamic wet surfaces
something thats achievable ok
Water and static map prop physics.
I love the console and physics.
I want dynamic fire.

What the?
I love the console and physics.
I want dynamic fire.
Physics and the AI I love
DMM and AI with knives. :ese:
Dynamic water should be possible.
Maybe that's why it's taking so long?
Rate me optimistic
PARALAX FUCKING OCCLUSION
Modders have added it, why can't valve.
They have to add better multiplayer serverside world models
you mean world models
They have to add better multiplayer serverside world models
How on earth would serverside help anyone? That means server owners could add their shitty little mods in even more enforcing ways and you would have to download them when switching servers. World models in source are handled clientside, while the physics for them are handled by the server.
Nothing, it's perfect as it is. Go play Crysis if you want tons of useless laggy features
They need to upgrade the Citizen models
Their fingers are still merged, dang
I love the dynamic shadows and the HDR.
would like to see better effects(explosions, muzzle fire) and onscreen effects like in smod. also MOAR WEAPONS(futuristic ones)
Physics, if Valve makes a new Engine called Source 2, oh boy!
Parallax mapping, wet surfaces, dynamic displacements*, dynamic sun light-shadows, sun rays, clouds, open space, dynamic destructable surfaces, dynamic water (moving, 3d shit, not dynamic cpu rape fluids simulation), better particle effects, destructable enviroment, advanced AI, real body**, cloth, animations generated on-run, better mod-ability, better collision decetion, dynamic fire.
*Remember good ol' HL2 technology trailer? Where the hell are my dynamic displacements
**By that I mean you are not flying hants + weapon in front of camera and other players are full models, no no. I want player as model with camera attached to head. AND MORE THAN LEGS WHEN LOOKING AT GROUND, it is not like my head is placed just near my balls
noo a typo please don't kill me it is no backspace day

This is Source 2
This is Source 2
No, Source 2 would be Source 2.
I want hammer/ faceposer to always be the same
This is Source 2
No its source 2007, I don't know about l4d's though.
Decent dynamic shadows, or yet, a better radiosity compiler.
1 last thing, PHYSX.
1 last thing, PHYSX.
Because that makes physics better automatically.

I mean like, next-gen engine's.
Or Source 3 then. :v:
Easy mapping. Yeah, its fucked up half of the time, but that's not important. That counts is that it works!
Higher res sprays
Dynamic icy terrain generation (Which may actually be in the game).
EG: Snow gathers up dynamically during the game in a non-laggy way. A gameplay element would be the "Shovel" weapon, which you can use to dig away snow from vital access areas, and possibly uncover secret treasures. This might be used in conjunction with dynamic displacements with the snow texture, which as the snow falls, it would grow bigger in certain areas that are in the snow.
And ice, which would be quite fun. A bit optimistic here, but seeing as valve likes to play around, maybe a command like:
ice_freeze_scale 0-100 (0 being no freeze, 100 being a giant ice block in the shape of whatever you just put it in. 10 would be default.)
That way, I could just set it to 50 and drop a soda can into a very cold pond, then pull out a giant ice cube with a soda can in the middle.
Source Movie Maker
I love Source, and Valve has taken it to great lengths with L4D2, but they need to upgrade soon.
The thing is that the Source engine lacks dynamics. The map format is BSP... it doesn't allow complex dynamic changes in the map without a huge performance hit... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binary_space_partitioning
Also, Source needs parallax mapping (as stated above) and OCCLUSION RENDERING... the engine still renders things even though you can't see them. The current PVS system + OR would be the best thing since sliced bread.
