crysis 2 looks like it's coming out on march 30th next year, and it uses DX 11.
I am looking for more of a story from this one.
Why don't they just make a good game for once? Not just a tech demo with mediocre gameplay.

I enjoyed Crysis.

The 3% of people who pay massive amounts of money to have the best computer available have to feel reassured that it was a good buy so Crytek took up the job of keeping them happy.
Comon, Crysis was seriously not that bad, you all just butthurt because your moms dell couldn't play it.
I mean you can't deny that an entire island being flash frozen isn't unique. Sure the aliens where a little bland to fight but in Warhead Crytek showed that they could make it a hell of a lot funner.

my mom's dell couldn't play crysis but hey I enjoyed it on low. It had a great plot and interesting characters.

i bought crysis to give me incentive to buy a better pc
I found Crysis's plot boring and cliched. I agree, the graphics; absolutely fantastic. Any semblance of plot immersion? No. Any creativity? At all? No. Is the combat actually fun, or do you just like running up to people and knocking them 20 feet into the air with no danger of getting yourself killed?
I liked Crysis a lot actually.

Play on something other than easy.
The plot was cliche, yes, but not boring.
What do you mean no creativity? 0 Gee environments, different weapon attachments, the aliens actually freezing the place instead of having a generic attack. I thought the aliens were actually kind of refreshing, because instead of having little green men, you have these ghost creatures that feed off energy.

Actually, a lot of people enjoyed Crysis. As a matter of fact, you don't need some super-powerful computer to run the game and have it look nice.
It works on some pretty minimal specs. An ASUS netbook can run it.
FYI to all those retards saying "PMG U NEED A 4000$ PC TO RUN CRYSIS", it was released in 2007, nearly THREE YEARS AGO.
crysis had the specs of most games just now coming out
Graphics aged well, Crytek said they expected the game too be good technology wise for 2 years but I have yet to see a game that can top it in terms of it's visual technology.
Hell the vanilla settings that are set up don't even properly reflect how good the engine can look, config files can make the game look 10x better and more refined.
For all you folks who say the game is easy. Get Rads Advanced AI mod and play on hard then complain.

Yeah and it still looks better even in DX9 (Which support ALL the DX10 tidbits with a few config changes)
This isn't correct. The only info we've gotten on Crysis 2 so far is that it's multiplatform. I doubt a release would be that close. Probably late 2010 if anything.

And I really don't get where that whole 'Crysis' gameplay sucks' gambit came from.
Crysis is one of my favourite games of all time, and only because the gameplay is so awesome. Sneaking around in the trees, grabbing Koreans and dragging them back into the brush to pound their face against a tree.
Seriously, besides the AI being a little :downs: at times, the game was fucking brilliant.
If it really is releasing then, than I am extremely excited, and haven't been this excited for a game since Guitar Hero 5 (I know, I'm lame).
Comon, Crysis was seriously not that bad, you all just butthurt because your moms dell couldn't play it.
Haha well said, i've actually never thought about it this way before. Sure, the story and the characters aren't very memorable, but the gameplay was awesome. It's true that without the amazing graphics the game would lose a part of its appeal, but it would still be a fun game. My only complaint is that it was too short.
Actually, Far Cry was about the same. Fuckin' A gameplay and graphics (for its time) + not so good story. And i'm definitely not saying it was a good game because of the graphics (i've only played it after crysis came out).
The only good thing about Crysis were the graphics.
The gameplay had the ever-present "been there, done that feeling" and it generally wasn't that satisfying.
All in all, Crysis was crap in my opinion.
[editline]04:45PM[/editline]
I don't expect anything from the 2nd one except huge system requirements.
If they would make a big jungle map with only koreans, I would love it, but aliens were shit.

It has lower system requirements than before, they have optimized the engine enough so it looks a tad worse but runs a fuck ton better. They did this to allow more people to play it. Besides i LOVED the campain, still play it now sometimes, the MP was just meh though.
My 11 year old Dell Desktop plays Crysis fine on Medium-Low Settings, so stop your bitching
I enjoyed Crysis.
I enjoyed it as well
until i got past the opeing credits
the game was boring
horrible gameplay
shitty story line
and no fun
all it had was excelent graphics.
@op
itt'll get kicked back 30 times before it's final release don't get your hopes up.

I did. I first beat the game on hard, because I'm obsessed with games. Are you telling me that you haven't seen another game with that? All it does is combine lots of different things that other games have done first! And come on. NORTH KOREANS ARE STORMING THE ISLAND. Why? THEY'RE TRYING TO... I'm not quite sure, but you have to kill them! Why? They destroyed our research camp there! What were they researching? ...? WEEE NUKES.
They weren't researching nukes. They wanted the alien tech so Kim could go all imperialist on Asia.

I'm talking about at the end of the game, where you're on the ship.

the gameplay's actually not mediocre. the story is.
"shit we don't know what to do here so uh let's make the aliens freeze shit yeah that'll be a real twist"

i got it running on my TI-84+ with no problems
I liked the story. Could make a nice action movie. The game is 10x more enjoyable with slowmo mod though.

There's a spoiler filter you know. THANKS! (sadface)
The game was released TWO YEARS AGO.
And it's not like the plot matters that much anyway.
I'm assuming this will be another pc-raper for 3 years while the tech actually catches up...
I mean, Crysis using Cry2 engine is today's tech, and it's fucking two years old. Crytek should slow down xD
