• Manhunt 2 Adult Only PC version released November 6th

I wasn't even aware of this untill five minutes ago, but I stumbled upon some news site when I was trying to find a site to buy the old version from, to play during a day off this week. Rockstar is going to release the AO version of Manhunt 2 on Friday, the sixth of November, to earn a bit of extra money. Rockstar couldn't get the game released originally because it recieved the AO rating, and because of that, Sony, Nintendo and M$ wouldn't allow it for their consoles. Now here two years later comes the PC version, supposedly with all the censor filters turned off. It costs only about 30$ from Direct 2 Drive, but is apparently only available in Canada, The United States of America, and Mexico. Now my only problem is that I live in Denmark, so how the hell can I get this game? May I AXE you a question? I really liked the original Manhunt, because it was very thrilling, being chased by murderous psychopaths through a city in decay. The mature elements actually enhanced the game for me, because you knew what was going to happen to you if you got caught by the gangs, which gave the some of the chases a serious degree of terror and adrenaline. The same to your enemies. If you finally could manage to corner that bastard that took a solid shot at you previously, you could really get back at him, and show it to all his mates. Welcome to the BAT cave! Some people say that us gamers shouldn't support this first proper AO game(if you don't count porn games and Leisure Suit Larry), but I think it would be good to support Rockstar, although they should be able to handle it with their economy, but mostly to show that games shouldn't be censored more than other medias. Soon, you will grow more attached to that chair... Say WHAT?!
I want it.
Do want.
Me too, but where can I get it if I can't get it from D2D? Can't I just buy it from the US website, and download it anyway?
Holy shit, that was unexpected!
This is one of the 4 banned games in New Zealand :saddowns: The others being Manhunt 1, Postal 2 and Reservoir Dogs
This is one of the 4 banned games in New Zealand :saddowns: The others being Manhunt 1, Postal 2 and Reservoir Dogs
What in the flying fuck? Reservoir Dogs is banned yet games like The Punisher (2005) and Dead Space aren't? Anyways, I'll get this. I'm in the mood for some gore porn
If you're still looking for the original, I suggest buying it from Steam. It say it's not supported by Vista, but a quick browse on the Steam forums led me to a little patch. Just opens the exe, extracts a few files, overwrites them and makes it work. (At your own risk) It is fun. I refer to Yahtzee's Zero Punctuation review :D
I know what I'm getting this Friday.
The original version was the only game to ever be banned in the UK (although it's unbanned now) so this should be interesting.

It got hard as shit in the end, when everyone has guns, and you have a shard of glass and a plastic bag... It was also quite long, several hours above the 15 mark.
This is kind of embarrassing but I've never played Manhunt 1 or 2.
I played this on PSP. I stopped after some dude was throwing shit at me.
I imported this on the Wii because it's banned in Ireland, and I have to say, playing it with the Wiimotes and the lights off, it's one of the most immersive games I've played in years. And then the shooting sections start and it goes to hell. The gore filters don't really take take too much from it, but I look forward to an uncut version.
Awesome :D
Whats different?
Whats different?
No gore filters I should imagine [editline]08:37PM[/editline]
The original version was the only game to ever be banned in the UK (although it's unbanned now) so this should be interesting.
WRONG. It wasn't banned, it was refused certification, much like Carmageddon 2 originally was. The decision by the BBFC (British Board of Film Censorship) was appealed by Rockstar to the high courts, who eventually forced BBFC to rate the game.
Finally. Waited for this ever since it was released for the consoles.
Yes! YES! finallY! Thank you lord!
Best be on Steam and not at full price I might add
I can't find anything about it on Steam, but Rockstar have worked with Steam before and let them sell all their other games, so we Europeans could get lucky. The only thing I can see hindering it could be if Steam had a policy regarding AO games. 30$ is a small amount for me because the dollar is so low. I think I can almost earn 30$ an hour, just working at a supermarket in my free time. It's banned even with all the filters? Geez Relax...
How is Adult Only going to make any harder for a kid to get their hands on it? Parents will buy 9 year olds 18's. What's the actual difference between this Adult Only game and an 18+? [editline]09:29PM[/editline]
Best be on Steam and not at full price I might add
It's £6. Just checked. Might buy it.

Holy good god dammit I need this.
Goddamn I gotta get this.
OP had some of the most hilariously bad puns I've ever heard.
This looks great. I forgot how brutal the first Manhunt's executions were, what with the wet snaps cracks. Manhunt 2's executions: :Dawkins102:
