I hate mods. I hate how people change to buggy models and stuff like RPG in CS:S. It takes a while to download, looks stupid, is stupid, and a lot of servers use this stuff. I once was a big fan of jailbreak, but then they got mods. First Jihad mod was pretty cool and funny. Then it got annoying. Magic and stuff (RPG). I hate it. Guards open the gates and people pour out invisible and very fast jumping and flying and shooting lighting bolts gets lame very fast.
TF2 also has same gay mods that really piss me off. But you guys know those. (Insta-spawn,sounds,no crits, etc.)
Do you guys like all these annoying mods?
This is why most decent servers run vanilla.

Sometimes annoying mods can be fun.
I was playing tf2, and suddenly, we lost! I put in chat "how the hell did this happen?" Mind you we still had 2 Cps in control. I looked at the bottom of the screen and saw next to the CP control hud was 2 percents: 1 for red and 1 for blu. apparently, getting the middle control point makes your "domination percentage" go up and once it reaches 100, your team loses.
I just play vanilla, for the same reason
Only "mods" I like are HLXStats and GG.
I only like small games like PropHunt or Pyro Tennis. Hide and seek is fun too, but that gets boring.
Don't download custom files, it's an option for TF2. And for CSS you just have to add something to your cfg file and you won't download any crap.
HLXstats are the only ones i've seen on my favorite. even if no one gives a shit about HLXstat points, better than servers that allow low gravity, over 100000 health, infinite ammo+Insta Re-load.

Well The only mod i like is the Zombies server on Half-life 2 deathmatch...(The one with Npc's)
Some mods can be a lot of fun. Though I agree, every single mod you mentioned fucks up the base game beyond forgiveness.
Well I really hope you are just refering to some source mods and css plugins... the mods for the good ol' goldsource engine are fucking awesome!
And don't forget mods like Neotokio or The Hidden Source for the source engine.
I think most tf2 mods are fucking stupid. Instaspawn, fuck you, Valve knew what they were doing with the dynamic respawns.
However GunGame Deathmatch is pretty much my whole reason for playing CS anymore

Every now and again I decide I want to play some CSS or HL2DM (God knows why I won't just learn my lesson), and I always end up spending ten minutes downloading a ton of shitty 'hilarious' sounds.

I joined a L4D sever and ended up with laser sights, incendinary ammo, 3 tanks every normal tank spawn, boomer proof cots and night vision.

I assume you mean plugins and NOT mods.
Mods are new games running on the Source Engine.
Plugins are things that alter a game server.
Insta-spawn is a plugin..
If you mean plugins, yes I agree, they piss me off.
If you mean mods then no, there are a lot of good SourceMods out there.
Mind you all crits is sometimes hilarious.
But I do dislike a lot of the plugins servers put in, I would only want to play an all crits game when just goofing off. Vanilla is where its at.
I really hate the quake sound pack for tf2, so much....
