Not more of this crap, the first releases were good since they kept to the look of HL2, now they're just about 4096x on EVERYTHING. Although I have to admit the new mapping does look nice.
well... you don't HAVE to play it...
my god, why have you forsaken me
Breen actually looks half-decent in this. The hair is very good as well, must I add.
Lets quote FakeFactory: "All HD models are optional and can be disabled/enabled individually"
I don't see why everybody hates this mod so much. Yes, the character models are pretty ugly, but I've found that playing with them off (and with only the rest of the visuals) and a very refreshing spin to Half Life 2.

But these screenshots I´m seeing really just look darker than vanilla, I don´t see the improvement.
This is worthless because it's full of bugs, VERY OLD BUGS! Plus, FakeFactory is a fucking pervert and a graphic whore. He hasn't done more than hi-res textures and porn-looking-like characters. If he fixed those fucking bugs and used the same HL models with HD textures, I would play it. I played the RC to check if he fixed all that shit and he did not. So, I would not recommend to download it.
Breen actually looks half-decent in this. The hair is very good as well, must I add.
CM 11 would actually be good if the characters were how they intended to be, and not something completely new. breen does look good, except for the derpy eyes.
Everybody is hookers! [editline]18th October 2011[/editline] You know, with the eyeshadow.
This face cracked me up. [t]http://www.abload.de/img/cm_11_06xf66.jpg[/t]
You know what really pisses me off about the Cinematic Mod? Surprisingly, it's not Fakefactory being a filthy old man who can't keep his fetish for busty virtual asian sexpots to himself, it's not the character redesigns, or his silly and ill-fitting German nationalism (Music being cribbed almost entirely from Hans Zimmer film scores, Alyx's pistol having a Walther logo slapped on it, etc). No, i can ignore and look past those. His environment work is actually decent-to-good, although he leans on pointlessly hi-res textures and detail overlays far too much. What really pisses me off about it, is that nobody else even tries to give him competition. Nobody. I utterly hate that HL2 is considered to be some sacred cow who's graphics cannot be matched or that Fakefactory's mod is proof how trying to make HL2 look better is stupid, which is complete bullshit. Valve can be laughably lazy when it comes to smaller graphical details and polish; Many, many character models don't have phong shading or even normal maps when they could or should have them. The HL2 .357 world model? It's the HL1 LD magnum retextured. If i want better weapon models, i have to settle for whatever GameBanana has to offer. Namely, 10 tons of generic SPAS-12's, Beretta's and Tactical Operator M4A1's with Holosights and M203's that all have much more detail than the character's that hold them. And if i want, say, a remodeled AR2 or a MP7 that's in Valve's style instead of some tacticool'd thing that exists only to appease gun greybeards who foam at the mouth at the slightest inaccuracy, i'm shit out of luck because said armchair soldier who's probably never actually touched a real gun before can't stand anything that's not a REAL OPERATOR-APPROVED FIREARM and tells me to go play Halo or Star Wars instead. The basic concept of giving HL2's models and textures a graphical overhaul that's not just a bunch of buzzword shaders and lighting effects on top of Valve's dated assets is good. It's Fakefactory's execution of the idea that's bad. With as much flak (justified and otherwise) Fakefactory gets, no one wants to offer an alternative to it, no one tries to give it any competition, and no one would give a good fuck if someone tried today. And that's what pisses me off about Fakefactory's Cinematic Mod. E: VVV Don't toss me in the same boat as some two-bit ideas guy, wise-ass. I've worked with the Source engine for years, and i would start my own if i thought it had any chance of getting people on board.

The answer "I do not know how" won't count. Also you are comparing two different concepts of a mod.
Are you fucking joking? This is horrendous.
FakeFactory: Now making the Half-Life movie.
Low-res picture frame and cactus. My immersion is destroyed.
wow did he steal adam jensen's trenchcoat
Maps are nice. However, the models...
lol
His city around the wrecked citadel doesn't look as wrecked as the original, and his choice of character models is as abysmal as ever. Why can't we just get a mod that decently updates the textures of the game?
You can only add so much detail until you get an ugly, over contrasted look and feel, aka this mod.
To me the greatest loss is the change of music. Why in the actual fuck would you change Kelly Bailey's awesome soundtrack for some Dark Knight soundtrack bullshit? I mean come on, now I gotta replace all that shit manually. Fuck that shit. I might use Breen but otherwise I'd just disable HD models. But the fucking music, man. That's what kills me here. I want to listen to Lambda Core and Extinction Event Horizon while killing shit, ffs.
I had absolutly no glitches or problems with 10, or it's updates. so maybe it's just you with these issues.
who said about glitches? In the canals, when you hit a bunch of wood and "that thing" falls off, remember? That does not happen in CM. Also, before that, where there's a train that hits the combine soldiers? That thing does not appear. Plus, he added random German dialogue in the game. Plus some other scenes that have awful timing and are not well syncronized.
Fuck that.
I kind of want to download it just so i can laugh at how terrible everything is but i'm unsure if the hilarity is worth the download time
As per tradition: I AM THE KING OF SPACE!
