Mafia 2: What has happened to a majority of the better modding sites?
3 replies, posted
I've been reading around on a lot of the Mafia 2 modding topics, and a lot of them refer to sites such as mafiascene.com and mafia-empire.com, both of which don't appear to exist anymore. I looked up mafia-empire.com, and according to TWBM's spider, the site disappeared around the beginning of 2011. Forum posts and mod readmes seem to agree that those sites are - or were - the nexuses of mafia modding. What happened to those sites?
Not enough mods I guess.
Mafia 2 wasn't very mod friendly.
There were a lot of good mafia 1 mods on those sites tough.
With these sites gone a lot of them are probably lost forever.

It's pretty sad, really. A few people got into LUA modding, in fact, I believe there was a facepunch member who made an LUA injector for Mafia 2. Problem is, the site with the wiki containing the API for that has disappeared.
