Lots of games end up being leaked around a week or a few days earlier than the release date, something like Killzone 3 isn't all that surprising considering it's releasing this month

If this is real it is not really a leak IMO. This just sounds like a street date being broken by a retailer somewhere.

The most likely reason is that whoever took the picture acquired it before the date it's supposed to hit the streets, if you know the right people/friends with people who work in retail, you can get games before they hit the street.
