So recently my computer's harddrive failed and I'm getting it fixed for free under warranty. Most likely the harddrive will be wiped. When I first signed up for Windows Live for this game, I was under the impression that it would save my save games for me. Judging from several Google searches this is not the case at all. Well, does it? If not, is there a way to retrieve my save files again? Or am I doomed to replay 18% of the game?

Nope. GFWL does not save games on a cloud.
Bah, what a frickin' disappointment. Now I have to replay everything.
