As you all know, most source mods are broken, but i have got a solution to fix this, this involves tweaking the mod's gameinfo.txt for ep1 (before the orange box engine) mods: get hl2 demo somehow and then change the appid in the mod's gameinfo.txt to "219". for ep2 mods: get Garry's Mod Retail (LEGALLY BTW OR Newman and valve will be on ur ass) and go open the mod's gameinfo.txt and change to appid to "4000". restart steam and it should work.... unless they update the engines for each game mentioned :w00t:
custom content gets screwed
custom content gets screwed
Oh, so that's why I was getting error models and missing textures when I used this on Galactopticon. I suppose it still works as a temporary fix until Valve actually does something about it.
which appid do you apply the values to? I got SteamAppid and ToolsAppid in gameinfo
