I found it yesterday and played it till 4:00 am this morning. Its great combination of tower defense and steampunk fps shooter. It has a free demo so i recommend you to try it out...beware it gets really intense on higher difficulties. The full game is also really cheap like 6 bucks. As a most coop game played with strangers it lacks true cooperation, and this game really needs cooperation to not get owned. So its better to play with friends. ..and btw its one of those games where loosing is fun!
Wasn't this originally a source mod?
Yeah, it's called Iron Grip: Oppression. Really awesome mod. Is it worth getting Warlord? I've heard it's bad,
Wasn't this originally a source mod?
Yes it was, but it was really successful (just like Killing Floor for UT2K4) and some developers decided to make it on a stand-alone engine.
I played this game, I thought it was horrible and very little people play it but hey that's just my thoughts.
This game is definitely fun. Go play demo!!! The combination of RTS/FPS is great, on harder difficulties you have to be really coordinated to hold your ground. Yesterday i played it for like 6 hours nonstop and it was great. Lots of fallbacks, pushs, guerilla attacks on armored convoys... And it runs great on older machines i have athlon 4000+ and radeon 3850 and in one moment i throwed molotow in crowd of like 40+ enemies and they were running arround burning to death without a slightes fps drop. Some things need balancing gameplay wise, but authors promised lots of patches and free dlc's. Right now its 6$ on steam so the game is really cheap.
Now that its on steam, there are dozens of full servers.
Played the mod when it came out, it was terrible. Never even HEARD that they made a commercial game - and it looks like an Xbox 1 title... (In term of graphics). Too bad too, because the universe looked awesome. This could make an awesome tabletop game...
I just played the demo, seem to be interesting. So I started playing and the whole game is a clusterfuck and it really looks but ugly. Well someone showed me properly the game and explained everything. The concept is really great. A new graphics overhaul would be nice though.

I would instantly buy it but the graphics are so bad I can't bear it. Also everything is very chaotic and it's sometimers hard to get into. The graphics are a big letdown.
Note you have sometimes like 100+ persons on screen with various effects. Its not a coridor cod like shooter.
Well you can't call them "effects". I'm not a graphics whore but the game looks like shit.
Just to keep this thread to the important things i will agree that graphics are dated...which means that those massive battles can be played by more than those lucky 15% with high end graphic cards. Lets focus on the gameplay. ...you know game-gameplay, the thing the games should be about.
Well clearly the concept is great. Although it was executed very poorly.
Well clearly the concept is great. Although it was executed very poorly.
I suppose they couldn't afford any other engine than ID Tech 3. Think it would've been better of them to get a sponsor so they could atleast get the ID Tech 4 engine.
Well clearly the concept is great. Although it was executed very poorly.
What do you mean by that? I think that the merging a tower deffence game and fps was quite successful, what did they do wrong?
This is a great game to play with friends, and a horrible game to play with strangers.
Looks like a must buy to me... Especially now with singleplayer AI, especially if I can play as both sides. :) Only 10$? Sold. Literally. AND A YOU GET TO USE GUERILLA WARFARE STRATEGY? GOD IS REAL!
That's because the devs are fools and went from the source engine to IDTech 3.
A Source engine license cost around 1.5 million dollars if I heard it right back in 2008. You think an indie company has 1.5 million to spend away? Great universe though. It's like someone put my WW1 and WW2 military technology into a Napoleonic world. One day they need to make a tactical naval airship combat game and publish a few universe sourcebooks.

The mix is great, though the shooting is kind of boring. The build menu could have been better. The map should be improved it's somewhat hard to see everything. Still it isn't that bad but most gamers will not play a game what is kind designed in this style.

I wonder how ACE Team (The guys behind Zeno Clash) managed to get a source license.

She actually said that the Unreal 3 engine (which is what we used in the classes) is half the price.
Maybe I'm not getting this... I thought it would be a bit more like an RTS, where you'd be able to recruit infantry at will, and not just have a set amount and only that amount. And relying on just yourself doesn't sound that great to me... [editline]02:54PM[/editline] Well they've also got an MMO for it in the works, I'd play it but sadly it's not an RTS. :/

Iron Grip is one of my favorite MP games.
Well, I played now few rounds. They were really awesome. And that was only the demo, considering that is very cheap I'll buy. Thanks OP. I've changed my mind on this game.
I played their source mod a long time ago. The gameplay was extremely broken with the RTS guy having no chance of actually winning. Other than that the coding was extremely glitchy, lagged like hell, and just wasn't much fun. I admit, it was a good idea though.

Hope you will not regret it. :D Edit: To all of you who played it long time ago, try the demo it seems like lots of things was changed.
The game is okay though there are not many servers. :saddowns:
