I'm really tired of people saying "x game suck because of y reason/s" without even playing or seeing footage of said game. instead they limit themselves to their ideas of a "good game", insisting that any game that does not meet their ideas is intensity bad.
An example of this would be FPS players; most people I know who play FPS games think that any game that's not about war or guns will instantly suck and it not worth playing. But their "favorite" games are almost always the ones they complain about most. If people camping in areas is so bad, then why don't you play a different game?
I've played sandbox games, shoot 'em ups, side scrollers, First person shooters, adventure games, Role Playing Games, click and point games, Real Time Strategies and puzzle games just to name a few different types of video games I've played, and I've enjoyed almost everything I've played. Why can't people just give stuff a chance instead of playing the same old crap to death and complaining about every minor error in it?
Totally agree with you.
I mean, sure not every person is going to have the time to sit down and learn Star Craft to be able to enjoy it, but they can set down their Modern Warfare games and pick up something else like, well hell, Super Mario Bros. Wii. I don't know about you guys, but getting a couple friends and family to play that with you can be hilariously fun.
You're asking why people are complaining. Not even God has an answer for that.
I am partially annoyed by this as well, A few titles including gmod made me quite spoiled and picky in some gameplay areas.
You made this thread because of that mario thread right
People always complain.
I'm enjoying Red Dead Redemption right now. This thread sucks because it's wrong.
Because some people are archivement hoes and hardcore fpsers.
With each good game our standards will go higher and higher.

The fucking truth.
This man is saying it.
I forgot how to enjoy games until yesterday when I found myself actually laughing and smiling whilst playing Burnout Paradise
Well I actually don't rant about games, only when they really suck or suffer from balancing problems, broken mechanincs.
I generally look more optimistic at games, sometimes a bit to much. A lot of games today are awesome and amazing though there is a lot of moneymaking bullshit.
With each good game our standards will go higher and higher.
Indeed. Good games spoil and bias our opinion. The better games they make, the more we, the gamers want. Simple as that.
If a game lets me have fun then it has done its mission. Sure, fancy graphics and gameplay are always a bonus but as long as you have that main element of fun it's all good. Heck, I'm currently replaying Zelda OOT on my N64 and absolutely loving it.

:golfclap: Well said.
Because some people are archivement hoes and hardcore fpsers.
This is exactly why. It makes so much sense
If you want a good game, play something made by Valve or Civilization 4.
Or Bioware.
Agree, too many FPSs. Why did people almost halted at making 3rd person video games? We all love them!

I really wish they would try to separate the consoles and the PC. They're not supposed to be the same. Consoles are supposed to have fun 3rd person games, fighting games, racing games and such that you play with friends on splitscreen.
I'm sick and tired of games company's thinking it's okay to make a game with bugs and glitch's and say they'll release a patch later. Also Company's just focusing on multilayer. When I buy a game I expect the campaign to be longer than a movie.
It's not that we've forgotten how to enjoy games, companies have forgotten how to make enjoyable games.
A lot of games spend too much time on fancy graphics, and not enough time fixing bugs, and making the game, you know, actually fun.
People will bitch.
It's human nature, usually the best thing to do is leave them to shout at the darkness and when they realise nobody is listening they will shut up.
I'll admit, I was unwilling to give the Force Unleashed the time of day when it came out. I finally picked it up a couple of weeks ago and generally enjoyed it. IMO not as good as the Jedi Knight games overall but that also plays to what people have been talking about here...the bar has been raised too high.

this guy is a true gamer
I don't really hate people for living in a box. But i hate those fps elitist that only play fps games and say everything else sucks. And those "oh it's 3rd person, never mind then" people are annoying as fuck too.

GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption and more
Before I complain and/or dislike I game, I always try them first. Unlike a lot of people that I know who just go "Meh, this reviewer said it's bad so it is bad."
I've been trying to convince some of my friends to try Mount & Blade, but they refuse since it's not made by a big company that is well known. They won't even bother to try the free demo, I mean you won't lose anything for trying. They are too narrow minded.
Yeah alot of my friends refuse to try out M&B: Warband too, but it's really a fun game... Can be a pain in the ass to block without shield, and it can be really frustrating sometimes though, but it's a great game like... It's not the best game every made, but it's very enjoyable!
