Making a new source game? Can i do it? Post your idea's! - Games

OK so I'm kinda climbing out onto a limb here but i have about... 3000 dollars to fund it.. and i want a 5-10 person team. I'm not sure what kinda game its going to be.. definitely a fps using source and it will be modern if not futuristic.. I will need maybe 2-3 coders, 1-2 modelers, 1-2 sound production members, 2-3 mappers. Can i do it? Also, What do YOU want for the next source game to be? Please don't flame -.-

What? 3000 Dollars? I don't think FP is the place for hired work though, even though I'm sure they would do it for money. :/

Post your past experiences with making games/mods, and don't type like you're 12. Creating a game is a serious commitment and if someone would join your team they would want to know you are serious about it.

Lol I'm not 12 and I'm not hiring anyone just yet.. Or you could spend the 3k on contract work

Make a game about soldier bears made by humans with futuristic technology, add a shotgunner bear, one with a minigun, another one that fights with his claws and runs faster than the others... and thats all I can think right now.

2150, alot has changed. Buildings are now huger, the rich are rich and the poor are poorer, you make your way through the city to do quests either to be good or bad, earth now has a space station connected to mars which takes 1 minute via orbital elevator, once on mars, everyone is weird, there are glow sticks, people partying, but theres a twist. Everyone has scanners to make sure not to stray off the foot path due to deadly virus's and sand holes. Pedophiles, drug attics, pimps plague the mars colony, your job is to clear them out either legally or illegally, remembering that there are robot gaurds at every turn. if you stray from the paths, you're either ingulfed in a virus or sent down a sink hole into watery like levels which you need to escape before the plants consume you. You can buy a house, but there are chances that rift ways will destroy the roof, sending the objects into space. You can either become a majorly powerfull criminal or a wealthy business man. it needs alot of polishing, but it's from a dream I once had. I went to talk to him, but he ignored me, he was wearing glow sticks with a scanner in his hand. I followed him to the elevator and catched the one to his left. I went back to the planet and saw the man still screaming, so I walked over to help him. I fell through the ground to some underwater pipe area, there were some plants and it was safe, the a strong current took me down to some dirt water area with ugly plants. Well go buy source engine then, the only way you can make a source game without paying money to valve for the source engine is to make a MOD. you're not going to finish this project imo

More ideas: there'd be a special secret class, a samurai panda who has a sword and can deal melee damage to a lot of enemies with 1 hit. And a polar bear that uses traps, like ice traps that make you slower. The medkit should be a fish, so the polar bear can put fishes that are actually traps, and also give real fishes to the team to heal them!

I'm thinking of an idea involving ninjas. I'll post more later after I have thought about it.

Also OP, are you going to be contributing anything to this project or are you going to pay someone $20 for an idea and then branch off your thoughts from that because that is hella lazy you're the first rich ideas guy I've seen

Nah.. im a coder.. and i can do a little mapping.. and im using source engine because im really good at coding with it..
