Roblox - So bad its good - Games

So, a few years ago I noticed my little brother playing some game on his laptop, I later found out it was an abomination called ROBLOX. I have been playing it extremely casually, as something to do if I have nothing else to do/play. For those that don't know, the game itself is actually really really great. The community ruins it though. In a nutshell, the game is whatever you want it to be. Currently the game is dominated by 3 prevalent game modes: Tycoon, mini game and war. Tycoon is buying/selling, its boring. Minigames are very well scripted, and the game is basically a collection of other games. A current popular one is have meat MG, which has a total of 19(!) mini games. War is self explanatory, it is the easiest to make and probably the funnest. Everyone has weapons and you kill people, easy as that. There are 3 membership types: free, BC and TBC. Everyone gets free for free, obviously, and it allows you to make one place and get a income of "tix", which buys stuff but not very good stuff. Dont expect anything awesome for sale in these tickets. BC allows you to create and sell shirts and pants, have 10 places, and get a income of virtual moneys called ROBUX. ROBUX allows you to buy stuff that actually does not make you look like a retard. TBC is BC, bu you get 20 places and more money daily. The downside is the community. The community is literally all 5 - 12 year olds, with a sprinkling of teenagers that make the game great. As I said, the game itself is awesome, but going into every server only to find a hoard of kids repeating "lul noob u suck u donts got teh hatzz" ruins the magic of it. But this itself is a upside, if you use 3 braincells you can completely dumbfound them. Screenshot(s): My place I whipped up. Starring me and my teakettle (which is very much awesome in the ROBLOX world). I must of made this about a year ago, there are many more building features now than what I see. As a "main game" for play most of your time, you will quickly get bored unless you pay. It is also really good for a nostalgic orgasm, as a flashback to your years of legos.

I still like Blockland more.

Since it uses LUA, if you have scripted for Gmod you should have no trouble scripting in roblox. Soo, wait? I can't play online at all in the demo? Not even for an hour or something? Fuck that.

I've been playing on and off since 2006 or so. I never really got into playing other people's places though, and instead just build and script. If you aren't sure you'll like the game, give it a try; if you enjoy Garry's Mod or Blockland, you should have fun in this too.

Sad how you only get two choices. Blockland, which is awesome and full of cool kids but you have to pay. Roblox, where its full of 4 year olds but you don't have to pay. Which to chose!?

Roblox has full physics on everything, which makes it pretty much look like free version of Garry's mod. Also, is it just me, or is it by the time of mid-2009 Roblox got flooded by some 2 million noobs(Read: MINGEBAGS) and a huge lag-attack came on all servers? Even through I play rarely, I only get some 15FPS on it.

[b]Even through I play rarely, I only get some 15FPS on it.[/b][/QUOTE] Blockland is much more optimized than roblox, that is why all the blocks can't have real physics, since blockland was optimized when the retail product was made, allowing for thousands of bricks(It a very high amount for a standard computer. I'll get some numbers if you want).
