Jackass, if properly executed, could make the greatest Sandbox game of all time.

We've seen elements of it in other games. Naked handstands on moving cars in Saints Row 2. Hall of Meat mode in Skate. The many possibilities of self-injury in GTA4. Although in a movie it seems like the stupidest thing ever, if you make it interactive (and do it right) you have the potential for an awesome game. It wouldn't be a risky venture either, Jackass is popular and almost every element in the game has been done one time or another, and just need to be combined and fleshed out. Have a large, diverse map (city, suburbs, industrial and rural), and all kinds of different stunt challenges involving vehicles, pedestrians, police, props, etc. Make sure there are different locations with special objects, building structures, etc. to experiment with. Have a system of rating smaller stunts that you do outside of challenges (like Saints Row 2). Have a system of developing your own stunt challenges and putting them online for others. Have all kinds of vehicles (bikes, cars, golf cars, grocery carts, animals, etc) for use. Have a replay and recording feature like Skate's (allowing you to control the camera freely throughout the replay). And of course, dynamic ragdoll physics with a system similar to the Euphoria engine (and a way to control yourself in ragdoll form, like Skate but more fleshed out). It would be done in such a way that there's a ton of opportunity for experimentation and such. Throughout the game you'll earn more props, vehicles, character customization options, etc. for doing challenges. There will be character customization, with the ability to change your outfit, features, and, since it's a Jackass game, your general girth and height (which will affect the physics of your character and how they use certain vehicles). I'll add more detail when I think of it.
I for one think this kind of thing is the best part of most Sandbox games I play, and I'd love to see it get its own game. Does anyone else see the potential of this (even if I didn't describe it very well)?
no
Sadly, Jackass is pretty much dead. It was all the rage back then, but today, nobody ever talks about it anymore, even with the most recent jackass movie that came out.
G-mod?

Jackass is more of a high-school thing. When Jackass 3D came out all the little Freshman were going crazy over it since their maturity is still in middle school, thus liking things like shit flying everywhere in 3D.
I wouldn't say its dead. Honestly I like the movies but some people are just a little crazy over them.
You don't need setting for sandbox game, you need an engine.
If you had a great engine with powerful and optimized physics, good graphics, and things like euphoria and advanced AI, finding a setting would be always simple.
But this (engine) is what's the hardest to create.
The second Jackass was horrible enough I didn't even bother with the third.
A strongman game with a dildo going up a mans rectum? No thanks.

It also needs to be user friendly.
Aren't you that guy who claims he's asexual and jacks-off to dragons in human clothing?

But yeah, I agree with the OP.

The second Jackass Movie was awesome.
The sketch you mentioned was pretty amusing, not the best skit by far, but it's just a cheap laugh.

"Today's debate. Is it wrong to be strong?"
exploitable external appendages
Garry's Mod with a couple of mods + Jackass characters = Win?
I think that ragdoll physics work as a nice addition to a game. If a game was made that focused on just the ragdoll physics, I think it would get dull.
It's like the skin on chicken. It's a great addition to the chicken but if you just had a meal full of chicken skin it wouldn't taste so great once you bloat yourself with it.
Good idea. This and Fuck Shit Up need to be made into games
I like the idea. The hall of meat part of skate was fun, I guess basing a game around that could be neat, as long as you had better stunts, maybe used the Euphoria engine.
the ragdoll physics would have to be like Skate's

Gotta have the ability to get objects and set up stunts.
Actually, it'd be pretty neat to have a multiplayer free-roam where part of the game is stealing the objects you need and running, like shopping carts
Oh god that would be gold
Skates ragdolling seemed really stiff to me.
Best ragdoll physics in a game would be dod:source or bulletstorms. There are a couple of others that I can't remember

Actually it's the guy that jacked off to pictures of Tyrannosaurs as a child while making threads asking how turned on people would get to being eaten alive.
There is a PS2 game of Jackass that was actually quite fun

Played it on psp, good fun.
Just have squaresoft release modding tools for just cause 2
Everything you'd ever want
