Hey, Ben here, I'm one of the developers of Hack Wars -- an MMORPG based around the act of digital warfare. We're currently in the later stages of beta testing it, and that's how I ended up moseying over to Facepunch Studios. We're trying to hunt down interested players -- Why is Hack Wars cool?
- Has its own in-game programming language.
- Unlike more hardcore hacking games you don't need to know anything about programming, designed for both types of players.
- All profits go towards homes for orphan kittens.

Looks kind of complex, and my vast IQ doesn't seem to be able to comprehend the manual. Then again, I only read the challenger API thing, so it may be easier. I'll stick to slavehack for a while, but if it does turn out to be a relatively easy to learn game, i'll probably try it out!

Yah we're working on better noob tutorials (interactive ones), it can be a bit overwhelming at first. It's not actually as complicated as it looks mind you, coding isn't actually needed, for instance, and there are lots of friendly mods ;)

So, I read your description of the game and thought this would be simply amazing! But going to the play page shows that it's a java applet. A [b]web based[i] java[/i] applet[/b]. I was really hoping for something that didn't breathe resources like air.

It's better than Flash.
Adobe didn't release a 64-bit Flash plugin for Linux.
This is pretty sweet so far. The other players are very helpful.
I am just suspicious of some of the starter IP's they give me. They're probably trying to get me there, catch my ip, then steal my stuff :ninja:
