Seriously, why are so many poeple addicted. Explain this.
I Hate WoWs Gamplay
Found yer' problem, Chief.
Different people have different opinions
WoW is the best time sink ever and sometimes it just feels good to just sit and do as what most people call "boring shit"
Listening to music helps a lot
Also, game doesn't get fun until 30+
Also, people make internet friends, join a guild etc and relate/start talking to them, sometimes I sit for like, half an hour talking about nothing with guildies. call it pathetic, but whatever floats your boat yeah?
but why do others enjoy it?
i have played it, I got to level 38, and then nearly killed myself from boredom
it takes so long to lvl up unless you are on a 10x EXP rate private server, but even once ur lvl 70 it takes forever to lvl up
the gameplay is shit because you press a hotkey on something, backup, press the next hotkey, and repeat this until the 1st hotkey is done recharging
is there something really fun about the game I have just been missing or what?
yes chatting w/ guildis is cool, but most ppl take the game srsly, or if they don't why not go on fp to talk? and last of all, i think the game is only fun when you are BELOW lvl 30, all the stuff after that is pointless grinding that takes forever
*note, i got to lvl 38 in the real game, and then switched to a 10x rate server, and got all the way up to lvl 80, still boring after lvl 30

*note most private servers are boring as shit and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying
if you don't like leveling up your first character, there's really nothing else to say besides "it's much better at 80". gameplay is typical MMO fare, and decently more complex than most MMOs, so if you just don't like MMOs in the first place there's really nothing to sway you.
i love MMOs, but honestly, wtf is wrong with this game's gameplay
and wtf is different about private servers other than i dont need to spend a total playtime of 2 years on killing various repetitive crocolisks and other pointless, boring animals
why do so many people play this game
and for fucking $15.00 a month? You could buy a new game on steam every month for that price

You don't like this game, that's your opinion, that's cool.
But that doesn't entitle you to bash people who do.
(and private servers are buggy and have shitty management)
There is nothing wrong with it, the problem is you. You seem to be the only person who doesn't like the game in this thread. Go and play another game and stop complaining.
Also, if you think that being below level 30 is fun, why did you waste your time levelling a character to level 80?
>Other MMOs (read free Korean ones)
>Private server
OP doesn't know what good gameplay looks like.

because everyone rants and raves of how GREAT lvl 80 is
and i was playing on a good private server
and last of all...it is a QUESTION thread, explain what is great about the gameplay
[editline]08:59PM[/editline]
also, the reason everyone on this forum thinks it is so good is that anyone who ISN'T biased about this game will not be lurking around this section of facepunch, the only people are fanboys and the occasional troll.

Now I know Elder Scrolls IV isn't an MMO, but for fuck's sake, it's good gameplay. I honestly don't understand how pressing fucking hotkeys and spending literally a half hour killing a boss is fun. I have more fun being a gm and typing .die on every enemy I see (it's fairly amusing)
a good MMO for instance are LOTR mmos, perfect world (it does get boring though), anything that is not hotkey based...
i'm sry, but if you think that WoW gameplay is PERFECT (from what i've seen at least, unless I am mission some sort of element that makes this game good) then you are exagerating.
At absolute BEST i would say this game is average

Grab some friends, go do a raid/instance, a really hard one.
When you beat the bosses and get awesome gear, shits so satisfying man, especially when its your first raid/instance.
WoW doesn't become truly entertaining until you explore the more social aspect of the game, running dungeons, joining guilds, working together as a team to accomplish a goal, talking to new people, meeting friends.
It all leads towards a fun, social experience. I don't play for the raids so much as I do because of the friends I have made through my guild and other sources.
Actually, the game gets better at 20+, not 30+ in my opinion. I loved my ram.
I quit at like 22 though.

i dont care how good you think a good private server is, playing with about 100 other people in a mmo is not fun. it gives you zero experience of what actually being level 80 is about.
I quit WoW about a year ago and now i feel like playing
For me, it gets fun when you're lvl 20 cause all the dungeons and crap
The social aspect of the game makes it amazing. You can do so much with other people. Questing is mainly so you can get to the levels that lets you do raids/pvp/ganking people.

there were thousands of ppl on it, it was WoW Legacy before all the ppl left
also, to the guy who said grabbing friends and doing a dungeon is good
i LOVE co-op games, dont get me wrong, but there is hardly a point for co-op when the combat is so bad
but yes, getting gear is pretty fun and exciting, but it's not worth the 5 hours
last of all, i agree with all of you about how the social aspects are great (which they are) but to play a game just to socialize is pointless considering that's what facepunch is for, socializing
also, wtf is up w/ roleplaying in that game? It's a cartoon game that makes fun of itself (mr. T grenade, murloc costume), how can you roleplay in it?
if you think 70+ is slow on a 10x private server, you have no fucking attention span and this isn't the game for you
there were thousands of ppl on it, it was WoW Legacy before all the ppl left
you're still not getting the full experience on a private server no matter how populated or good you may feel it is

then dont play it

you'd get better conversation out of a NPC than a facepuncher

by ignoring the stupid stuff and taking advantage of the expansive background lore
obviously there is a whole different world of gamers who tend to find this fun for some reason.
This game will never be fun to me, you have failed to persuade me.
This thread is dead and I will divert my full attention to GD. Goodbye.
Alright. Just don't play and go back to doing whatever you "tend to find fun for some reason".
Bye
A bad poster posting in GD, who would have guessed

MW2 (IMO) is a horrible game and heaps of people are addicted to it, explain that.
