This is trivial, and doesn't bring anything down on the game but can anyone explain why Link is becoming and engineer "Early in the game, Link is en route to his graduation ceremony to become and engineer. He's scheduled to receive his license from Princess Zelda herself, but it's in danger of being rendered useless thanks mysteriously disappearing Spirit Tracks..." - GameInformer Maginzine Becoming an engineer is kinda... random huh? Maybe he just following his role model, The Engineer. If so, I hope to see the spy as a boss.
http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=811780 We already have a thread about it. And I think it could work, it's certainly a change to the normal Zelda gameplay. The dungeons look awesome
Will he bring helmet, goggles, a Texan accent and engineering tools, too?
Oh.... I look like an idiot.
*shakes head* Oh my god... I knew Wind Waker was the beginning of the end.
They're clearly running out of ideas.
*shakes head* Oh my god... I knew Wind Waker was the beginning of the end.
Well, it's actually more of a branching off of the original timeline. How else could you explain the Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess's prescence in the timeline, as well as the Windwaker sequence? IMO, the Windwaker style games were more like part of a spin-off history.
*shakes head* Oh my god... I knew Wind Waker was the beginning of the end.
You obviously haven't played through WW. It was an awesome addition to the LoZ series. The only people who disagree are those who looked at the graphic style and went- "o no im to old for those baby graphics, lol"
OP can't spell for shit. But on topic: I kinda wish they just did a non-grim dark 3D action adventure Zelda ala OoT, MM, or WW.

Not that TP was bad, but it just didn't compare to WW,OoT or MM.
Yeah, the one with the sword girl. It'll probably be really dark. I hope not.
Has anyone who has played this give some impressions? Is it as dumbed down as everyone is saying?
Copy of The Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.nds
Fixed
Eeerectin' a hookshot.
Nobody has played it...?
Wow. This game looks like an awful terribad shame to the Zelda franchise, luckily I don't have a DS so I will never ever play it. :haw:

It's like that but with a train. Probably. I think it looks great. [editline]12:13AM[/editline] And i'm getting it for christmas hopefully
Yeah I have it, quite far in I think now, personally I found the second boss battle pretty epic and overall it's a pretty decent game though. I love the spirit pipe playing scenes as they remind me heavily of the ocarina ones in OoT, it is quite similar to phantom hourglass but to be honest I loved that so I'm loving this. I wouldn't say it was massively dumbed down, at least not compared to phantom hourglass.

Poor LoZ, what have they done to you?
You people hating on WW and this game have no clue what you're on about...
You people hating on WW and this game have no clue what you're on about...
Who mentioned WW? Though it's a shame that game turned out to a be a dud because the visuals were beautiful. Anyway if you think that PH at all comes close to the brilliant and intricate game design of A Link to the Past, then you are the one with no clue.

And I didn't say anything about PH because it is a weak Zelda game.
I haven't played it, but i've seen mixed reviews. Most people say it's basically Phantom Hourglass except with a different scenario, some people said it was boring and the controls were shit (Even though i think these are the best controls yet in a Zelda game)
Some people in this thread are connecting ST and WW and calling WW "the beginning of the end". The cel-shaded games are excellent atmospherically and visually but are resoundingly weak in gameplay design.
so where does spirit tracks fit into the timeline after phantom hourglass, in the new land the WW Link and Zelda set out to make, I guess? I haven't played the game myself
The train based travel is hellish, it's all of the boats, with none of the ability to change your direction. You blow your horn to get animals off the tracks, :(
so where does spirit tracks fit into the timeline after phantom hourglass, in the new land the WW Link and Zelda set out to make, I guess? I haven't played the game myself
There is no timeline. The creator of Zelda said there is no continuity between games.

I honestly did not bother to take the time to think about it, otherwise I would have said Miyamoto. It's not something that occurs to me every time I think Zelda. And I was running out to dinner.
Infact, I'm pretty sure Nintendo said recently (well it was a long time ago) that their is a timeline, and they have documents for it.
