I have $100. Which games should I buy? One of the is definitely MW2. And, I might also get Battlefield 2. I'm also thinking Borderlands. What do you think? What would you buy if you had $100? Also, I'm not buying anything until christmas, because I'm sure that there will be sales. Thanks.
How are these valve games and/or mods related.

BF2 is a good choice. It's very cheap nowadays, you get BF2+Special Forces and all the booster packs (which are included in the 1.5 anyways) for $10-$15. And if you have friends to play with, it's twice the fun.

Also, speaking of BF2, everytime I buy the disc version, it stops me mid game, kicks me out, and says "disallowed program/ driver." What's should I do about that?
I'm talking about getting a game from valve.
Then perhaps you should edit the OP to say that.

Don't get MW2 for PC get it for a console if you have one. Server system is awful, makes me feel indignant that I have to spend more time in a game console style lobby looking for a host than I do actually playing the game when I'm on my PC ! Borderlands is good but only buy that if you have a friend or two to play it on coop with, thats when it becomes worth the money, but again, on a console they get the DLC sooner than us lot on our PCs, but its still good anyway. Battlefield 2 is awesome, 'cause a recent patch gave you 2 expansion packs for free and new maps, so there's even more people playing it now, especially cause its on steam, so I'd definitely go for that. And, hell, since you're looking for games, maybe consider buying S.T.A.L.K.E.R. if you haven't got it http://store.steampowered.com/app/4500/ That's a shit load of awesome right there.
Then perhaps you should edit the OP to say that.
He obviously just means a game from Steam. People use the words Steam and Valve synonymously, rub two brain cells together and don't just post to have a quick go at someone.

How long are we talkin' here, though, because it's no problem for me if it takes a little while.
Get this: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/2546/
WOW all those games for that amount of money. Damn I buy em separately.
I would suggest not getting MW2 for PC, but getting it for 360 if possible. But yes, the valve complete pack is great for $99(i think) dollars as the above poster indicated.
So, you're saying that it takes too long to get into servers? How long are we talkin' here, though, because it's no problem for me if it takes a little while.
sorry for the late reply an the slight bump dude, it varies but the problem with the servers not being dedicated is that it has to find you a good game thats being set up near you, an if it cant find one within a certain ping limit it'll keep pushing the ping limit higher and higher till it finds a suitbale server say, it starts looking for servers for the game mode you choose that have a ping of 50 or less, if it cant find anything suitable, it moves to 60 or less and so on it can take about a minute just to find a good server. and then you have to wait for people to join it, which takes another minute. it doesnt sound bad on its own, but when you're use to the cod4 system where you just clicked on a server an joined it straight away, it sucks. But if you don't mind waiting a bit, its ok ! Just the bit that makes me rage is when the person hosting the server quits. Because then you have to stay in the lobby until a new one is chosen. and it gets annoying when people keep leaving so you have to wait for new people to join until the game starts. And when a host quits mid game, the whole damn game stops in order to find a new host. You're probably far more patient than me though :P

You should buy a 360 or a PS3. Save it up man, thats what I'm doing.
Then perhaps you should edit the OP to say that.
I'm pretty sure it was implied when he posted it in the "VALVE GAMES AND MODS" forum...
Borderlands is fantastic.
