The game can't fully be explained until you actually play it, but:
In Clonk, the player controls small, humanoid beings - the so-called Clonks - within a two-dimensional, dynamically modifiable landscape using keyboard or mouse. Clonks interact with their surrounding landscape, animals, weather, buildings and objects. The game can be played alone or in multiplayer in split-screen or via local network or Internet. Four different keyboard settings, combined with the option of using a mouse or gamepad, result in allowing up to six players on one computer. The game goal depends on the scenario being played, varying between melees, in which players fight each other, strategical team siege scenarios and cooperative missions.

Several extensions are available for registered players:
Knights: Medieval object pack, in which knights fight each other with axes, swords and bows by foot or on horse. Castles can be built using a modular castle building system and some medieval economy branches are available.
Hazard: A futuristic pack, in which Clonks fight against aliens or other Clonks using a variety of weapons such as HM, Missiles, Sonic guns, Shrunk Gun, to more simplistic guns like Phasers. This pack was originally released for Clonk Planet and has been remade for Clonk Rage.
Far worlds: Three elaborate scenarios (deep sea, jungle and Arctic), in which the Clonks live in inhospitable areas, where mere survival is a challenge. Out of the three Arctic is the most challenging, requiring the Clonks to eat food regularly and be constantly mindful of the cold to avoid dying.
Golems: Clonkian magicians receive the ability to animate statues into Golems. Originally there was the Gold Golem, Rock Golem, and Snow Golem, each with their own different strengths, but later scenarios by players added a few more golems such as the Fire Golem.
Fantasy: Dragons, magic, adventures and more. This extension adds new spells to the current magic system.
Western: Cowboys, Indians and accessories. This object pack was originally created for a design contest, but has been developed into an official extension.
Additionally, many unofficial extensions have been created by players. One example is the modern military-combat extension called "First Aid Pack", which includes various weapons, vehicles, and scenarios in a modern-combat setting.

I just got around to playing this again, seeing that I re-found my key. Clonk can be kind of hard at first, but once you know how to play, it can be really intense.
You can declare war and battle, or you can try to survive bitter cold; all of which depends on what scenarios you play. If your not registered, you won't be able to play the best scenarios, but you can still get a good flavor of the game.

I remember playing this a long time ago and loving it, I really don't feel motivated to get back into it for some reason though.
Yeah, its alot more fun with more players.
But, sadly most of the multiplayer servers are german, and the other half i cant even join :c
I remember modding this with the scripting engine. Glorious times.
I made it rain flint every so often. Fun in multiplayer.
I love this game!

Same. I think it's down to the fact that playing on my own gets extremely boring and playing with others isn't an option. Like that other guy said, half the servers are German and the other half you can't connect to.
I'd love to get a game going with other FPers, but I can never co-operatively basebuild. I always get annoyed (OCD'ish annoyed) when people don't build the way I do, what with all my right-angle tunnel junctions and perfectly straight rooms.
But, if anyone would be up for playing a game sometime, I'd love to host. Got a good connection AND the registered version.
PS: Does anyone know if it's possible to make your own maps? Really want to make a big green flatgrass map and have it so you can build castles piece by piece, big dining rooms and towers and all that as well. Is that possible (the map making and the building every single castle piece bit)?

You can if you've bought the game. Infact, an FP member made a snowy caslte build map with a couple of medieval mods. Shit was slow, but fun.
Looks like Cortex Command.
Is the trial worth it?

I would say yes.

Yeah same, still remember playing it for a while but i dont feel like reinstalling it..
Heh, I get back into this every so often, it's a great game.
I am annoyed by the rocks, when i dig using the elevator it hits rock and I have to get flint, but the flint never goes to the rock and either blows me up or blows something else up, causing it to look bad or flood the area if I am near water. I wish you could plant c4 or something.
TBleader, it's probably because the rock is very hard. It usually takes more than one little flint to blow some up, or a big one.
I lost my key about a year ago :saddowns:
Can you get it back somewhere?

Just request it from the Clonk guys themselves. Make sure you have a receipt of some kind.

No, I mean the flint doesn't go to the rock and it goes somewhere else, either causing shit to look bad or flood me, or kill me in the explosion.
A good game to kill time.
