Hah, he actually named it Strider. I wonder if he had played Half-life before.
inspired by nature my ass
Probably not. He didn't even say Half Life 2, just "a popular video game"
That's cool since it actually moves like one.
inspired by nature my ass
Hahahah! Also, he wants to have a robot beat world cup players. Funny.
inspired by nature my ass
this What do you find in nature that looks anything like that?
What timeframe do I skip to nevermind
Its at the beginning
this What do you find in nature that looks anything like that?
A strider. Hurr durr. Don't you see them walking on the streets all the time? Or are you in combine prison?
Probably not. He didn't even say Half Life 2, just "a popular video game"
Copyright issues maybe?
inspired by nature my ass
Last mission in Epiosde 2. :rimshot:
The movement is really interesting, the way it swings it's hole body
Copyright issues maybe?
The best part is that you can see some gameplay of the HL2 Beta at one point and it even says Alien robot from the game Half-Life 2 by Valve Co. It's a cyborg creature not a robot.
It's a cyborg creature not a robot.
this again Striders are Xen creatures beefed up with more guns than they usually have by the Combine. Just like those weird green alien things you see near the end of HL2, the Combine have a big ol' factory for taking Xen fauna and making them deadlier and force them to obey. Well, besides zombies and headcrabs. They kill those either way.

Striders, as well as all synths, are forced-evolutionary byproducts of creatures enslaved by the Combine.
Those damn Asians will rule the world.
It's very important that we know this man is asian.
they are not from Xen. Striders, as well as all synths, are forced-evolutionary byproducts of creatures enslaved by the Combine.
whoops i was thinking of dropships my bad
That was really fun to watch.
You guys are being idiots right now. Did you even listen to him after he said that the design itself was not inspired by nature so much as the movement physics? Oh, and nice going nit picking the fuck out of him when he said the strider was a "robot". He's a scientist who has not played the half life series at all but found the strider as a good reference, do you honestly think that he should've studied the half life back story just to say "a synth" instead of "robot"?

The Cheat plushie at 6 minutes, sweet.

[editline]10:12PM[/editline] Besides, you're overanalyzing what I said. I said that the strider was a synth because I know it's a synth from the model files, that's it. I didn't go into when he said "robot" and prove him wrong ten times sideways and inside out, I was just explaining what a synth was in the Half-Life universe. Think a little bit before being a dick next time.
Great. Now, who wants to start working on a wang cannon?
I wasn't really talking about you specifically, sorry for the confusion though.
Then what was all the fuss about. (with the ban on necromany and all)
Hahahah! Also, he wants to have a robot beat world cup players. Funny.
That's a goal of many robototechnics, to make a robot that can play soccer better than a real player [editline]07:45AM[/editline] Also, an asian dude that makes robots, what next, Valve making videogames ?
Then what was all the fuss about. (with the ban on necromany and all)
There was a guy above the dude who responded to me who was doing what I complained about :v:
That's a really unique way of moving
Hah, he actually named it Strider. I wonder if he had played Half-life before.
Did you even watch the video? Striders have been existing since before Half-Life.
