• Help/advices with stolen credit card info (victim)

Just to clear out, I didn't steal anyone's card but last week some fine gentleman used my father's card to buy stuff from steam and spent about 354 euros. I have my own account and credit card, it's my younger brother who still has to use father's card for his purchases. My father asked me for help because I have more experience with Steam. I checked everything and it seems my younger brother didn't do it (checked his library, email and purchases). We suspect it could have been one of his friends because the thief only bought stuff from Steam. As for where the thief got the card number we think there are two options: Brother had the card info saved on his Steam account so it was just matter of finding it and writing it down. He also invited friends often to play games so there was a lot of opportunity. And then there's a possibility my brother is dumbass and told it someone. Here's the important stuff: My father already blocked his card and I contacted support. I asked them for purchase details because we only have numbers. Can they provide that? Because the price of the thief's purchase can be considered an offense and that's not a light issue. Is there a chance we could get the money back from Steam?
Well, since I hopefully resolved this issue I thought why not update this thread. When I was checking my brother's steam account purchases the first time I forgot to check Steam wallet funds and in-game purchases. He actually spend all that stuff on TF2 items. Steam support was very helpful and they will refund the money so that's great. As for my brother, I'm sure this won't be forgotten for a long time.
oh man that's rather funny reminds me of that guy who spent a crazy amount of money on xbox live did your brother think TF2 items didn't cost real money or something?
So your brother is still a dumbass, just for a different reason....

From what I heard he got jealous that I can buy games when I want. I can manage my money and I also don't spend much (sales, etc). In the past I gifted him few games, too. Hell, he spent almost a half of my account's worth in a few days. I'm still shocked he bought so much stuff. He's 10 but he knew damn well what he was doing. I would understand if he bought a game or two, but that... He really surprised me. Negatively.

That's the worst thing, he usually wants some new game only to abandon it after few days. But truth is TF2 and Minecraft were a lot on his playlist.
Maybe stick to giving him a pre-paid steam card?
No need for that now since parents won't let him use steam or computer. I guess it will be few months before they let him play any video games again.

Make the little brat play Custer's Revenge until he apologizes.
TF2 becomes free to play Gets 354 euros out of one person.

I doubt there's a law for that. One should take responsibility for one's own purchases, no matter what the country. If there was a law for that, then there would be a law for stolen money and a law for I was high when I bought this etc etc etc. Steam Support in general will try to help you out, so it wouldn't surprise me.
