What new gem will I mine this time? It has a fine name indeed. That name is Stealth Bastard: Tactical Espionage Arsehole. It has a core philosophy, and that philosophy is “why does stealth need to be so slow?” Turns out, it doesn’t. Bits of Portal, bits of Super Meat Boy, bits of Splinter Cell, yet a tone and character entirely of its own, and with none of all that tedious waiting around business. Having nosed at Alpha Protocol for the first time over the weekend and run screaming from its horrific hacking minigame (don’t worry, I’ll persevere), I can’t tell you how grateful I am to just have to press a button and watch a computer’s digital defences crumble before me. Inexplicably, Stealth Bastard – from some of the chaps at Explodemon creators Curve Studios – is entirely free. It shouldn’t be, but let’s be grateful anyway. It even has a built-in level creator. I’ll have more to say about this when I’m not about to embark on a free-form adventure in a snow-bound fantasy land (spoilers!), so in the meantime I’ll make you watch this here trailer and then nod you in the full game’s rather tasty direction.
You have to make an account when you launch the game to play, but don't let that turn you off, it's only for online score keeping. You aren't even required to enter in an email address and it takes 5 seconds. Reminds me a bit of N with stealth mechanics and a Revenge of the Titans like aesthetic. Been playing a bit of it, and let me tell you, the engine is slick as hell and the game doesn't hold your hand. Thats a recipe for win right there. And its FREE And I knew I forgot something: Site and download: http://stealthbastard.com/
My only problem with it is that after completing a level it takes forever to pick a new one.
Where's the link? Whatever just found it in the video description.
Oh god this game is hard as shit
Wow this is fun, but yeah its damn hard
This is extremely fun, and a damn good example of an indie game.
It's a lot like the first two Oddworld games. Except with less honour and more gibs.
Dodging those cameras reminds me of Metal Gear Solid for some reason. Gotta give this a try.
I want it on my Xperia Play..... NOW
I love the computer thing that talks to you sometimes. One level had a long hallway with a terminal on one side and you on the other. If you hesitate to run through, it says "What could possibly go wrong?"
Yes, put this on android
Couldn't find a more official thread for this. I made a custom level to test out clone controllers.
Everyone should get the Deluxe version
