Its not dead, May be on the US side, But in EU no way. Even i play it sometimes, There are always 50 player servers for me so.. Also darkest hour mod is popular, There are always atleast 1. 50 player server for it.
Also its a great game, Buy it now.
From my experience there's usually 2 full large servers and about 12 others with 5-20 people on them.
So is it worth the buy still?
Yeah, It's a good game.
Only if you really like realistic games. The community isn't dead though, and lots of people play Darkest Hour.
Ofcourse it's worth a buy! Amazing game, can't wait for Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad.
The game is still really popular. Hell, the 386th has a server and we can fill it up quite easily if we start playing on it.
I just bought it, sucks that most everyone is either Russian or German.
