"Sift! I have been sleeping under a goddamn rock for the past few years, what dare I ask is Super Mario Galaxy?!"

Super Mario Galaxy is another entry into the main Mario platforming franchise, you stomp goombas, explore creative lands, and listen to the energetic music in the process. Each Mario game is known for having one gimmick, this games gimmick was players took to space to chase after the princess. Due to this the designers were able to have a absolute FIELD day with level design and let creativity shine, strange gravity abound, levels that wrapped around in unnatural ways and gigantic planet sized bosses. Also for the first time in a new entry to the series the game let you play as luigi after finding all 120 stars, and while he had less friction when he ran, he could jump further, higher, and was faster. He was the games hard mode, and it would kick your ass if you didn't master the controls quickly as his comets were legit hard.

Overall the game did a amazing job and wowed a LOT of people, myself included. Later after getting everything I could out of it I sold my wii, like a few other people I knew, nothing would make me want to come back I told myself, that was until Super Mario Galaxy 2 was announced. Now, I'm really not gentle with series that have been done to death but this is the exception, one I'm genuinely excited for as I want to see more of what the team behind the first one can do, especially with all the changes made to it.

Wait, changes? What changes?
Confirmed:
> 240+ stars: Breaking the mold of 120, a few magazine's confirmed that there are 240 stars, currently unknown if it's just Luigi's or something else but it is confirmed there is a secret bonus when you find all of them

> Yoshi: Yoshi, a fan favorite by now returns, having power ups himself that can make him run faster, float around etc. Also unlike that piece of shit yoshi in Sunshine this one can actually swim. Thank fucking god.

> Luigi at any time: You no longer need to get 120 stars to unlock the lesser bro, you can find him around levels, chat him up and he'll ask if he can take over, say yes and suddenly you're controlling Luigi.

> Time Trials: Almost every stage is said to have a ghost of the developer that you can race, finding the fastest way around the stage and seeing if you can beat them, uknown if there's a prize for it or what but still cool. From the looks of it you can only be Mario while doing this while the ghost uses Luigi's shadow.

> New Power Ups: Yoshi isn't the only one getting these damn things. There are 3 new additions to the power up roster, the Boulder Suit (Allows you to transform into a boulder and ram things) the Cloud Suit (Allows you to look absolutely hilarious, oh and I guess make platforms as well) and the Dig Bit (A drill that allows you to tunnel through the middle of the planet and pop out the other side, or just dig).

> Old Favorites Return: The Bee suit, Boo Mario, Fire Flower, and (annoyingly) the Spring. These, counting with the new ones and Yoshi's power ups make this the biggest Mario game yet power up wise!

> Redone Overworld: Instead of running to different stations like the first game, things take a NSMBW approach and you move a cursor (your starship) over a galaxy and pick it like that, it's simple, handy, and looks great.

> New Minigames: Great, minigames, though they actually look fun and generally amusing, no longer will you be raysurfing off a cliff, but instead be gliding around on the back of birds, racing, and much more!

> Music: Anyone who has played the original Galaxy can vouch for this, they did a amazing job remaking the music of older games as well as throwing in original new songs, it all sounds amazing from the bits and pieces gathered from short vids but it's all something to look forward to.

[B]FAKE LIST[/B]
There are some pretty nasty rumors going about, and most of them have been proven fake, sorry if this comes as a downer to a few but the following have been confirmed fake

Sonic: Sonic is in it once you get all the stars! [b]NO![/b] This is stupid, why would sonic be in there? Confirmed by the official nintendo magazine to be fake, there are no hidden characters and they've beaten the game.

Mario 64 Remade: Collect 120 stars and you open up Peaches castle and redo all of mario 64! [B]NO![/B] This started up when Whomps fortress vids leaked. That's officially titled "Throwback Galaxy" and is made up of past levels and references to the older games. There's a surprise at the end of the game, but it's not doing 64 all over again

The Throwback Galaxy, the Mario Sunshine elements, and Yoshi make this game even better.
And i find it funny how us Americans dont get the beginners DVD, and every other country does, im sure Nintendo is trying to say something with that.

And also to people who dont even want to try the game out, Nintendo had enough consideration to finally put Mario 64 and Mario Sunshine stuff into it, the least you can do is play it.

Some idiot went on gamefaqs and said Sonic was a unlockable character in a troll post. People thought he was serious and now the rumors inflated, those who have already beaten the game can confirm that there is no bonus character though.

I couldn't find all the stars in 64 and the DS remake, but I could easily find them all in both Mario and Luigi's modes in Galaxy. 240 sounds like a lot of fun to collect. And since Nintendo included handicaps if you can't do some of the levels they increased the level difficulty. I can't wait to buy it.
