Anyone else have issues with Steam Library load times?
I have about 300 games, 30 or so in a favourites list. It takes about 10-15 seconds to load when I switch to all games. I have an above average computer so it's not the hardware.
Really annoying when I buy a new game and want to access it.
Make sure the disk steam is on is defragged.
And assuming it isn't just a software issue, it might be time to invest in some RAID 0.
The amount of games Steam has to load from your library is massive. I imagine this is mostly related to the speed of your hard drive.
Could you please post us a Speccy of your computer?

Not at home so I can't give you a speccy, they are on a standard 1TB 7200rpm HDD.
I'd raid 0 if I didn't already have a bunch of SSD's taking up the SATA ports.

I think I may have one free port actually, no HDD bays left though.

SAS 8087 to SATA.

Any number of these babies.
Then depending on your case (Mine for example: the HAF 932) you may be able to get extra drive-bays by getting mounts for your expansion bays, or extra space in the case.
Your other alternative is to get a NAS with Esata:

Good rating, looks fairly cheap for its performance.
(and the aforementioned drives)
I think I'll just live with it for now, too much effort to save me 10 seconds every now and again.
The games/software I care about is on SSD anyway.
