Trying to play GTA IV online. Microsoft sucks. Help.

I bought GTA IV so I could do multiplayer, but GFWL is being the biggest cock-blocking bitch I could ever possibly imagine. I've never had to deal with Windows Live before, and even though I imagined it was going to be difficult, this is just wrong. I can't make a Live profile. Every time I try to connect, it says there was a connection error of some sort. Is it on my end or theirs?
Are the servers down because of the Christmas rush? Or does the internet just hate me in particular? Can anyone tell me how to get multiplayer working? Please?

idk maybe just wait and try again in a couple of days? im not really sure what to tell you. I never had to make a Live account on my pc cuz I'm just using the one I had for my xbox.

Well, I'm enjoying the single player, even though I already played halfway through it on the ShitBox 360 at a friend's house. And I heard multiplayer was pretty fucking fun. Except for RPGs.

I believe Live isn't avaible in all countries. Wich is still shit because even withoud Russians everyone is hacking.
There should be a list somewhere on their website

anyway. like you said about a port. do you know what port it is?

if you cant reach a MS site, means you got a illegal windows. when you download something from there site you must do a check. if MS sees you have a illegal windows. you are blocked from the site like i had (bought Windows 7)
