• Recommend me a good Racing Sim game?

I tried a quick Google search using the query 'Recommend me a good game thread site:facepunch.com' thing but only found a thread in the Valve games section (which I didn't notice until I posted).
Minor bump, but I figured this didn't deserve a thread. I'm looking for a realistic racing simulation game, preferably with a demo. You know, you start with some cash, buy a car, win races for more cash, eventually get a super car or something... It may help to know that Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec is the best game I have ever, ever played. Ever. Seriously. It's my absolute favorite game. I liked everything about it. If you've played it and know any similar racing games, you know. Tell me. Please.
Any good suggestions?
Forza 2/3.
Forza 2/3.
Funnily enough, I was considering this until I realized it wasn't on the PC, which is what I'd really prefer. Or is Forza on the PC? I'm using Steam as a reference here.
Nope.
Nope.
Damn. Anything else?
If you want properly good offline action, try rFactor+Proper mods. Fuck it, let me make a thread about it.
DiRT 2 if you like slipping and sliding all over the goddamn dirt track
DiRT 2 if you like slipping and sliding all over the goddamn dirt track
I actually considered DiRT 2, so I downloaded the demo. Unfortunately, it won't run for me - do you need a GFX card that supports DX11 or is something just fucked up? I tried redownloading as well, but that didn't help. Rebooting failed too.
http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?p=22570449#post22570449
Looks great, I'll download it now and play it either in an hour or so or in the morning. EDIT: I can't register to download it, it only gives me errors :frown: Oh well. Any other suggestions? Wait, rFactor is free, yes? If it's not, that's fine, but can it be bought and downloaded over the Internet? I can always get off my lazy ass and hustle on down to Gamestop or some shit, but I'd like to leave that as a last resort. [editline]01:43AM[/editline] Alright, well, as long as no one has any other suggestions, I'm going with Forza 3 for the 360, I guess. I've considered rFactor but I don't want to pay so much for something that seems unpopular and difficult to get used to (the UI... THE UI...).
