Xbox VS Playstation- why - Games

Im just wondering, i have a Xbox 360 and a Ps3, i like them both, they both have good points and bad points. so why do xbox 360 owners hate ps3 owners and vice versa

Xbox 360 sucks since it has the red ring of death. I dunno about the PS3. But if this was a Xbox VS Xbox 360 thread then i would vote Original xbox.

People feel the need to back-up the purchase they made, which is why 99% of people who own both love both, and 99% of those who have one hate the other with a burning passion equivalent to a thousand suns.

I agree with OP, I have them both and love them. And to everyone that goes "XBOX RROD", I've never gotten it. Just make sure it get air, and don't use it as a football.

I have both, and I like both. I play the Ps3 more though, since I don't pay for Xbox Live. But I get on the Xbox if there's a demo I want. Since, from what I've seen, the Xbox has a much bigger marketplace.

Fact: Playstation 3 is more powerfull than XBox 360 - meaning the graphics and engine is better XBox 360 breaks a lot of the time PS3 never breaks as much as the XBox 360 PS3 Network is free XBox 360 network you have to pay for..

Played Overlord Raising hell on the PS3 ran more shit then a PS2,sums it up.

Iv'e personally experienced a RRoD and a YLoD, and it sucks to have either one take a shit on you. I love them both though. I spend more time on my PS3 because that one is actually in my room while the 360 is in the living room which equals little game time. Not to fear though guys! I'm sure the PC folks will come in here soon and clarify that they have the better gaming system.

Why can't people just learn they're both good consoles. I bet if your Ps3 broke, and you got a 360, you'd think it was way better, and would post about how much better it is than the Ps3. Most people won't admit they like another console better if they don't have it.

I have never gotten a RROD from my xbox and it has worked fine for years. The PS3 has upsides, the fact that it can play blu ray movies, but I don't watch too many movies, let alone 20 dollars movies to make it worth while. Another thing I like about the 360 is that the controller is better designed than the PS3... I know people will argue, but if you play first person shooters on your console, I think the xbox controller is better than the PS3. Another, plus for the xbox is that it is more common to run into people who also have xbox. In college there was a PS3 down the hall, and an xbox next to my room, 2 xboxs across the hall and 3 more down the other end of the hall. So in terms of being able to play over Live (which costs money, but it isn't too bad) with friends, the Xbox is fun. Now some people will dispute me saying that they know more PS3 users and such, but it also depends on where you live. Also, noted that someone said the PS3 is more powerful so the graphics and such are better. I find this false. I have played both systems and have seen what both can do, and it depends on what kind of graphics you are rendering. Each system can render different types of graphics better than the other... *Non-shit storm post.

PS3 exclusive games are fucking great. There's only a couple not worth getting.

PS3 lacks games that use the console to it's full potential. xbox360 can't be moved while a disk is spinning and might RROD (i have one of the first batches 360's and it never happened to this one. Though it's second hand so it's probably never used alot). 360 has online service and more 1080p games (not 720p upscaled like most ps3 games) Couple weeks ago there was a game that had a multiplayer issue. Sony refused to fix it, microsoft said it would. In conclusion i'd have to go with the"both are good".

I have a PS3, but not a 360. I don't dislike the Xbox 360... I've had my PS3 for almost 3 or so years now, and just recently gotten the PS3 equivalent of the RROD. They both have their failings and good points, and I think they have to come near evening out. However, as Ecksdee said, I think people are just hellbent on making themselves feel better about their (Or their parents'?) purchase.
