I found a perfectly symmetrical cave right in the side of a hill on the surface

Then I filled in like 3 blocks that were missing and turned it into my vault

Just looks like a corrupted game to me.. seed was lost, so it generates a different terrain between the two chunks.
Well it's still awesome...

Lucky, usually I spend about 5 minutes clearing caves out to look symmetrical.

I found something like this, but deeper down. Was epic.
I will post pics later of an epic cave i found. Imagine a lavafloor with a waterfountain, in a very large room, with spots of diamond and a family of slimes hopping into the sizzling pit of lava

Thanks. I also forgot to mention that it was the first time i found diamond, and the first time i found slimes - in fact, i was intrigued by the slimes sounds, because i didn't know what it was, so i just mined in it's general direction.

So how does the seed system work? Just type in a random phrase and it spits out a map based on the letters?

The game converts the letters to numbers, concatenates them and then seeds the random number generator to that number.
