well, 2 hours until the new set of deals come along. before that happens, is Torchlight worth the $5? good replay value? not boring? easy to get the hang of?
It's an arpg, of course it is easy to get the hang of. Also yes very good replay value, the dungeons are randomly generated, as well as the weapon stats and such. In my opinion it was worth the $10, and the $20 as well. Also, we already have a thread for this game: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=835776
Honestly this didn't need a new theard. But how could it not be worth 5 dollars, you pay 10 dollars to see a movie for 2 hours.
That is a terrible terrible analogy [editline]03:22PM[/editline] Oh, wait. Read that wrong. Thought you were attempting an analogy. I'm sorry, bro.
Don't you dare buy it, your going to have problems, sure maybe the first two times you run it it works, but after that if FUCKING breaks. Maybe it's just the steam version, but I can't believe I payed for a broken game. [editline]04:11PM[/editline] This is an EXTRMEMELY common problem too. What the fuck Runic?
no it's just you, it's awesome
Read there fucking tech support, you'll see how many people have a fucking broken game. It's fun, sure. I'll give it that, but SOMETHING is broken, until they get there shit straight, I'm going to naysay this goddamn game.
Ignore that faggot and buy the game.

Fun tip: the game reverts to Demo mode when I put it in safemode. And you know the Demo version of the game works perfectly as intended, but as soon as I play the normal game, no, it has TOO break. If I'm right, I believe it's steam cloud thats borking it.
And it isn't like they won't try and fix it for the people who do have it broken.
Ignore that faggot and buy the game.
I'm a faggot for being frustrated at a game that doesn't work, I think thats pretty normal. [editline]04:18PM[/editline]
And it isn't like they won't try and fix it for the people who do have it broken.
Alright, I'm frustrated, this is impairing my thoughts. I still wouldn't buy the game until they get their act straight.
Its a hack and slash d2 style of game. if you have playd Fate you have playd Torchlight. Buy it and support the new company.

At first I would recommend it, but after playing it through I must admit it isn't as fun as I initially expected, there's only 2 types of quests in the entire game, kill this monster or find this item, that's it. It's fun to kill monsters but it does get repetative, that's usually expectable in arpg's and it's the same formula popular games like Diablo builds on, but after playing a short while I get bored and get the urge to fire up Diablo 2 instead. There's lots of interesting magic effects on items and it's fun to build on them with sockets and enchanting and heirlooming to see how powerful you can get them, I think that's the only thing drawing me back now. It's not a bad game for the price and it's fun for the first playthrough, but after that it does get repetative and sometimes without multiplayer I can't help but think why bother continuing to play. There's also some mmo or something based on this coming sometime which I think will be some free addon/separate game for Torchlight so there will be more content in the future. Also post below. v v
Don't forget that the game is moddable and that you can get a free modding tool for it if you buy it. (I think) [editline]09:28PM[/editline] I also realize it's a bit late to argue about this, considering the daily deal he was talking about ended a couple of hours ago. But hey, it's still on sale.

I'm big on modding so thats a huge selling point for me.
