I don't think Activision is paying Valve to do that. Some people are stupid enough to buy MW2, and apparently there's quite a few of them.

I don't know how game developers get away with releasing unbelievably generic games and somehow find success in it. I guess if you make it flashy enough in graphics/advertising it doesn't matter how truly awful it is.

Yeah, because a game is massively popular, selling like hotcakes, and is from Activision totally means it can't possibly be a decent game at all, right? :downs: Have you even played MW2? I don't even like Call of Duty games, but a friend bought it for me and honestly I think it's pretty good. It's Activision running another franchise into the ground, yeah, but that doesn't mean it can't ever have its high points.

I've played MW2 before and I really didn't enjoy it at all. I had a hard time finding the game itself very appealing. It just seems like a run-of-the-mill FPS game compared to the first few CoD games and doesn't deserve the hype it got.

I mean if someone's crouching behind a small wall, just due to the perspective the game is put in, they still appear to be firing bullets out of their helmet by their target's viewpoint. I bought MW2 retail. Played it once on normal, beat it, got teary when Ghost died, all that jazz. It was an ok game, played the Co-op stuff with a friend, multiplayer sucks, all anyone ever does is camp/spam nades/snipe you from that ONE perfect spot they spent all of friday night looking for. Was the $60 worth it? Hell no, was it fun? Yeah. was it worth it. I dont really know :( I really doubt Valve is shelling out, they are the last "pure" gaming company out there pretty much, it would be sad if they were, but i doubt it. (My mini review was to show that i played the game and didn't go "HERP DERP MW2 SUCKS VALVE IS TEH GREATEST")

It's been top on the charts in the UK for like 6 weeks. It's a good game.

Now don't go all screamy screamy on me, but i think COD4 was really, really, bad. and cod5 was actually decent, but unfortunately it was very similar to cod4, which made it suck, but it was still really good, but it's kind of bad because of all the campers and stuff. and cod6. was. a. big, big fail. No dedicated servers, so that if IWNET goes down, so does everyone, very smart, all eggs, one basket. deathstreaks are useless, and all people do is camp... and there are so many hackers, and 10th prestiging hacks... but hey, it's PC, all games have that right? i think people wouldn't feel the urge to hack if the game didn't suck cock so much. And im not hating on those who like the game, but it SUCKS in my opinion. And for specops/single player, i wish the harder the difficulty, the more realistic it gets, not just, plain harder... on veteran, the enemy autolocks on you and keeps shooting, and its like their snipers have no recoil lol... the juggernauts just keep running at me with a machine gun on full auto and every bullet hits me. Also, you can't report any hackers, because it's all VAC now... greatt, also with no dedicated servers, you cant kick the hacking faggot, oh and you can't leave the game because you lose your match bonus and it counts as a loss, is that really a big deal, no, its a game, but i have nothing better to do but play tf2, play mw2, so i can go on forums and start trolling/flaming. sorry about that, i played mw2, it happens. "Shellrage" instead of "shellshock". COD's 1 and 2 were the only good ones, i don't even talk about cod3 about how bad it was...

No. Cod 1 was good. Cod 2 was the best. Cod 3 was shit. Cod 4 was good. Cod 5 was meh Cod 6 is meh.

I bought MW2 for the campaign. And it was awesome. Tried MP but I suck epic balls at it.

I don't think they paid valve anything, but honestly, it is pretty obvious that many of the large game reviewing companies were heavily bribed to give good reviews. We all know the pc version is NOT even CLOSE to a 10/10, most people think it is pretty garbage mainly because the multiplayer is pretty darn horrible(singleplayer is pretty good but too short). If you go on metacritic, you will see that it has a rating of 86/100 from the major game review companies scores, yet the average person review is a score of 2.3 out of several thousand reviews. Honestly, i am very disappointed that they would go to such low levels to sell more of their shitty console port. How many people can you honestly say play modern warefare 2 that often from your steam friends list? Not many i can bet, really shows you how bad of a multiplayer it has. Not sure why you guys are saying cod4 wasn't a good game either, it was a GREAT game, equal to cod2 in my opinion. Maybe some of you don't feel the same, but to say it is a bad game is odd, considering how much of a good game it was.
