• Help on choppy gameplay- Crysis

Ok first off, Yes I do like crysis. However my problem is the fact it runs low fps and quite choppy on my computer. I would be fine with this IF my computer was low to mid range, but its not. My computer is a very good gaming computer that I built. It has Dual Radion 4850hd Graphics cards which together put out 3.2gigs video ram. 8gig ram Intel core 2 quad processor Q9550 2.83ghz Performance rated at 6.3ghz Runs on Vista 64 I know I have all the requirments to play this game on high and ultra/very high. Problem is IT WONT. It plays very choppy and only at 18-20 fps with pp at low. on dx10 Tried switching to dx9 to see if any difference 19-21 fps everything on high cept pp which still on low. And gameplay... still choppy. One reason i'm guessing is the Crossfire graphics cards. Could I get some input or any advice on this? Even on system requirements lab my computer was rated to run everything at very high with no problem.
Check AntiVirus Defrag -Check Temperatures -Test Video -Test System Memory
Update your drivers also.
Yeah make sure you have all the newest drivers. Make sure there's no program running in the background using your RAM and stuff. (Like antivirus)
All drivers up to date. And only background program is steam. And cyrsis is ran from steam so cant close it. And computer should not need a defrag its only 2 months old. Computer is also temperature regulated. It beeps and informs me via screen on the tower.
are you sure you're using the right ati drivers and not just shitty windows ones
What?I just see it alternating between purple and green.
Actually, those graphics cards really aren't as great as you put them out to be. At least compared to newer ones. Uhm.. 19-20 fps on max settings... You want higher fps then the solution is to lower some settings.
[QUOTE=Skwee;19370270]Uhm.. 19-20 fps on max settings... I did notice something strange though. Crysis always loads up in a windowed state and when I run on all high settings I get around 28-30 fps. If I switch to full-screen mode, the fps drops to the high teens. I have no idea why it's doing this and I haven't gotten around to troubleshooting it yet. Maybe you're having the same problem?
It drops because it goes to a higher resolution... Unless the window size is the same size as your full-screen resolution that is
