• I'm thinking about getting Oblivion...

I've watched some Oblivion videos on YouTube lately, and as I was sitting there, seeing what you can do in that game, I started to drool. I've thought about it for a while now, and I want your advice. I want you to answer the following questions: 1. Is it actually worth it? 2. Should I get Fallout 3 instead? 3. I would be getting it for the PC, so what should I look out for in that version (ie. annoying glitches)? 4. Can I haz a cheezburger? Post your answers please, and try to inject some humor, I love a good laugh.
Get Fallout 3 instead. Get the GOTY edition, it has all the DLC.

No. *If you get an unleveled mod that makes all creatures spawn.
The better question is why don't you have it already, it was deemed a must play like 2 years ago.
Nah, buy Dragon Age: Origins. Better animation Better story Better voice acting Better violence Better gameplay It's basically Oblivion but with a party system, so you can control up to 4 party members at the same time. It's badass.
How can you describe dragon ages gameplay I'm thinking of getting that game Is the combat system click and attack etc.?

Dragon Age is a mostly linear adventure with only a couple of different outcomes. Dragon Age already has a set story and you follow it. Oblivion is a game where you make your own story.

Oh, and Oblivion has more RP value.
Nah, buy Dragon Age: Origins.
Dragon Age doesn't have the mods and massive open world that lets you fuck around to your hearts delight though. Wow, late. CLOCK ME!
One more thing: In Dragon Age, can you get chased by a wolf, hide under a rocky outcropping, and then have it walk off of it and break it's legs on the ground?
I say buy it, I have played it for more than 300 hours easily.

There isn't really enough detail and the game kind of forces me to pick a side, why can't I fight the brotherhood? Nope, you can only join the dark brotherhood. The game is honestly linear, it just gives an illusion of free-roam and freedom, because your options are so limited as to what to do in quests and such.

I would get Fallout 3 (used) first to see if you like it, and if you do return it and get the GOTY edition. If you don't like Fallout 3 you probably won't like Oblivion because it is much more detailed with stats and things.

Imagine how much bigger the game would have had to be if for each quest-line, there was an opposing one? I agree though that the quests are mostly linear and don't offer enough choices, but then again I still haven't seen a game that's really nailed the choice thing down.
Except Oblivion is better in pretty much every aspect, including quests, combat and so on.
It really depends on what you like: Medieval combat (swords, bows and arrows) or more sci-fi. Fallout 3 has a much better story that's easier to follow, but the quests are also a bit repetitive in some places, but not usually. Oblivion is way more repetitive than Fallout 3 with all the Oblivion Gate quests. I think Oblivion is a bit longer than Fallout 3 though, not including DLC. Also, no matter which game you get, never forget about fast travel, for the life of you, never forget.
I didn't know fast travel existed in Oblivion at first. It took me half of a real day to find my way to Kvatch.
Having played both Oblivion and Fallout 3, I say get Oblivion, definitely. Assload more to do, more varied combat (Fallout 3 is just guns, explosives and perhaps some melee. Oblivion has several ways to get ahead just in magic, and then you've got two different professions in melee, archery, enchanted items, poisoned and enchanted arrows, the list goes on). There's so many different paths to choose in Oblivion, so many quests, so many dungeons, so many professions and skills that you can mix and match to make all number of different characters. The amount of mods really is unspeakable. They range from tweaking tiny bits of the game (i wanted a mod that made projectile spells fly faster, found it instantly) to your own liking to completely reworking the experience (zombie apocalypse mods, anyone?) or expanding the game world (one such mod adds a whole province to the world with its own dungeons and towns)
4. Can I haz a cheezburger?
No, get out. I'd get Fallout 3, but that's just my opinion.
Oblivion gave me a good 500 hours or more, buy it, i'd say.
1. Is it actually worth it? Definitely 2. Should I get Fallout 3 instead? No, I enjoyed Oblivion more, but that's just me, I'm more into fantasy-medieval-RPG than future-post-apocalyptic stuff. 3. I would be getting it for the PC, so what should I look out for in that version (ie. annoying glitches)? Lots, but either they're hilarious, or they are fixed by official or unofficial patches 4. Can I haz a cheezburger? no.
Get Oblivion, it beats FO3.
Do not get Fallout 3, Worst $50 I've ever spent, Oblivion however, Is one of my all time favorite games.
I honestly did not really like Fallout 3. Oblivion was great, though. Pick it up ASAP.
Yes, Oblivion is worth it. In fact don't even get Fallout 3, just get Borderlands. It's better. Get Oblivion and Borderlands.
