A sequel, Killzone: Liberation was released on the PlayStation Portable and another followup, Killzone 2 was released for the PlayStation 3 on February 27, 2009. Killzone 3 is currently in production. The game is the first of the Killzone series. In the near future, mankind takes to the stars and begins a halcyon period of planetary colonization. New colonies are formed under the Earth-loyal banner of the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance. But behind the smiling façade of galactic growth, unrest is growing. On the planet Helghan, colonists find themselves warped by the poisonous atmosphere. Those that survive become stronger, and develop a burning hatred for the alliance that sent them to the accursed planet in the first place. The ruthless, militaristic Helghast secede from the ISA, conspiring to wage war against them. The peaceful colony of Vekta becomes the first victim of Helghan's retribution, quickly falling under enemy control in a bloody blitzkrieg that leaves thousands dead or injured. Following events and action from the original Killzone for PlayStation 2, two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta, the ISA is taking the fight to the enemy's home world of Helghan. The ISA goal is direct: capture the Helghast leader, Emperor Visari, and bring the Helghast war machine to a halt. Assuming the role of Sev, a battle-hardened veteran and a member of the special forces unit known as the Legion, players will lead a group of highly trained soldiers on a mission to take out the Helghast threat. For Sev and his squad, the invasion of Helghan is just the beginning. Tasked with securing Pyrrhus, the Capital City, the team quickly discovers that the Helghast are a formidable enemy on their home planet. Not only have they adjusted to the planet's hostile conditions, they have also harnessed a source of power they can now use against the ISA. Sev discovers his squad isn't just fighting enemy forces - their fiercest opponent may be the planet itself. Rumors have been told that since the Killzone 3 teaser contains your suspected main character putting on a Helghast helmet, you will be playing against the ISA as a Helghast soldier, or undercover. Two months after the ISA victory on the Space Defense Platform and the recapture of the capital, the Earth fleet has scattered the Helghast troops all over Vekta. The Autarch of the Helghast, Scolar Visari, has given General Armin Metrac full command over the remaining forces and ordered him to strike back with a new wave of destruction. Together with his brutal second-in-command, Colonel Cobar, Metrac is slowly capturing ISA bases in the south, establishing a stronghold from which the counterattack can be launched. He has made the strategic ISA base at Rayhoven his next target. Any place where I can find Killzone 2 for not-$50?
Rico is an asshole.
bring back luger and hakha
Killzone 2 is a fucking awesome game.
Is Killzone 1 any good? Everyone says the atmosphere and stuff was great but it had too high requirements for the PS2 and everything was scripted.
Is Killzone 1 any good?
Any place where I can find Killzone 2 for not-$50?
I usually get my console games used at half.com
kz2 got boring after a while i hope 3 can be better
I usually get my console games used at half.com
Oh my god. Thank you so much for this. I'm getting it from here on my birthday, then. :respek:
Killzone 1 is a fun game but... It seems too average... Killzone 2 on the other hand is one of my favorite games, and one of the best looking ones I have seen too. My only problem with Killzone 2 is that the controls were so clunky it was hard as shit to do anything at all. The multiplayer is pretty fun, but as Ehmett said, unbalanced (the problem is that the classes are build to get better the longer you play). I'm going to wait for Killzone 3 to come out and then get Killzone 2 for like $20. These games sure devalue pretty quickly.
i like how the very last rank in kz2 takes 100000 points or so and gives you jack shit not very rewarding i'd say
I'm going to wait for Killzone 3 to come out and then get Killzone 2 for like $20. These games sure devalue pretty quickly.
pretty sure people are selling KZ2 on craigslist for around $20 now, fyi
killzone 1 being an average game? i've only heard that when people who play games like modern warfare 24/7 try out other games.
1#: Look at the reviews. 2#: I was talking about the shooting-aspect, the atmosphere is great.
1#: Look at the reviews. 2#: I was talking about the shooting-aspect, the atmosphere is great.
why would i need to look at reviews when i own the game.
Any place where I can find Killzone 2 for not-$50?
As far as I know, Killzone 2 was $30 for a while now. Yep, here it is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16879261047&Tpk=killzone%202 As for online, I felt like after I unlocked the LMGs, I didn't need anything else.
I liked the singleplayer of Killzone 2. Multiplayer was somewhat amusing for a short time, but it really is not an enjoyable experience after that time. Maybe Killzone 3 will fix the multiplayer somehow.
I'm going to wait for Killzone 3 to come out and then get Killzone 2 for like $20.
Any place where I can find Killzone 2 for not-$50?
It's actually 30$ right now, its been out a long time.
I liked Killzone 1, but it felt that it took way too many bullets to kill someone, and every splitscreen session me and my friends would have (+tons of bots) would end up being an explosive whoring instagib battle. Would have liked custom weapon settings to choose which weapons spawn and which don't to keep out excessive explosives. Atmosphere and art-wise though, I loved the game. Especially the strong influences from Nazi Germany and the Wehrmacht in the Helghast.
why would i need to look at reviews when i own the game.
How would I have known?
I like the atmosphere of killzone, I played the second one through on veteran first time, which was awesome. Multiplayer was really good at the start, and me and a friend both got to the highest rank within a week (haven't played it since they added more ranks) but then it just became a lot harder the less I played it. I find that with most online FPS', I don't play for a while and I can barely get a kill in edgeways, makes it really hard to start playing again.
I love Killzone 1 :3: I still play with the bots up to this day. Only thing I don't like is that they have a freaking good aim with grenade launchers, which makes them fucked up enemies...
I love the series' setting, design and atmosphere, but the games always fall short on something. Killzone 1 didn't really play all that well, it just felt so incredibly sluggish. Being able to play as different characters were cool, but on the later levels you would only want to play as Rico, since he had the biggest guns. As for Killzone 2 the graphics were fucking amazing. The gameplay was quite satisfying, weapons felt weighty, but there weren't much motivation for me to shoot the enemy as the story blew balls and none of the characters were lovable (fuck I hate Rico, hope they kill him in KZ3.) The multiplayer in Killzone 2 was horrible, mostly because you had to grind in order to unlock the different classes. A bullshit move, which just killed the idea of having a class-based multiplayer. Killzone Liberations, however, was fucking sweet. Probably one of the best handheld games I have ever played. Really fun.
KZ2 was fun but it stopped letting me play online a few months back Any time I try it just returns error code: -10 and I can't be bothered to fix it.

I remember I got completely hyped about the KZ2 ps3 vid because it looked ridiculously realistic and then it actually totally wasn't, or wait am I talking about KZ3 now? the one with the chopper getting shot down I think
