I'm not talking about puzzle games or Diabetic Dog Game (http://nobelprize.org/educational/medicine/insulin/game/insulin.html , how do I embed this link?) or any other educational games.
I'm talking about games that make you rethink your morals and such. Games that make you think hours, maybe even days after you've beat it.
I just finished Prince of Persia (2008) and it compelled me to find more games like it, thus creating this thread. What is one grain of sand in the desert? What is one grain of sand in a storm?
Another game that made me think was Zeno Clash's ambigious ending: [sp]Mother-father is not their real parents?[/sp] Sorta can wait for the second game the ambiguity of the developer's theme makes it more interesting.
I don't remember anymore but if you guys would want, we could discuss games that make you think. We can analyze motifs, themes, and symbols
Here are some flash games that make you think (if you need an example):

Minecraft?
Minecraft.
Angry Birds. That's not a flash game, and it makes you think about projectiles
My friends and I just finished Heavy Rain, and the [sp]trial where you have to kill the drug dealer as Ethan Mars has made me think, especially with his reaction afterwards if you do decide to kill him.[/sp]
Would you end a life to save another? What rights do we have to judge the value of another's life? What if that someone turned out to be completely innocent, instead of "street scum" or an unwanted person in society? Would you still kill them to save someone you loved?
Maybe I just read too into things. Oh well.
Heavy Rain made me think. Could I really go through all that stuff to save my son?

I don't have a PS3 because [img_thumb]http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/6/61261/1145755-pc_gaming_master_race_large.jpg[/img_thumb]
I could watch some gameplay, endings and read some interpretations but I'm sure playing the game is much more powerful. Oh well. Maybe someday.
CoD.
-snip-
Heavy Rain definitely. So many things to think about where I questioned where my morals were, even if it was in a game. But one thing I didn't need to think about was [sp]sex with Madison Paige[/sp] :smug:
You can also try out Braid.

I bought it last weekend. Can I get the feeling without completing all the puzzles?
Bioshock.
half life when I first played it.
Metro 2033, when I found out the ending depends on your actions throughout the game it made me realise I'm a bad person...
Half life 2.
At surface value not so much, but when you start reading up on the lore, and think about exactly what people say/do, shit gets deep, weird and incredibly awesome.
Call of Duty 4 (Modern Warfare).
[sp]The level when the atomic bomb goes off and you are in the helicopter. Then you are crawling around the school yard with your broken legs in the aftermath of the bomb. It just sort of stuck with me. Made me think should something this powerful be used even in war...[/sp]
And Half-Life 2

Especially the endings. What path is best for humanity?
Oh man, Deus Ex, Bioshock, Metro 2033.. those games I sort of want. I'll get em if they go on sale for real cheap.
Racing games that utilizes tuning.
I mean something like NFS2, Supercar Challenge, etc.
NFSU2 comes to mind.
Good times, winning the drift comp by miles in your stock car against all these customised hotrods was always lulzy.
Great, now you sound like my fucking Biology teacher.
Counter-Strike: Source
Metro 2033, when I found out the ending depends on your actions throughout the game it made me realise I'm a bad person...
I always get the good endings in games. I guess you are just a heartless person.
[editline]8th March 2011[/editline]
Also Braid and Max Payne.
Freedom Fighters makes you think about plausible futures like this, what oneself would do in a situation, take up arms against the invaders or betray your own?
Some games make me think.
I remember Spore made me think once.
I remember thinking "Why did I buy this game god damn".
Portal makes me think how the fuck are they going to properly fit it's insane backstory and almost contradictory time line into the half-life universe. I honestly wish portal and half-life were in different universes.
"Why did I buy this game god damn".
Me too. :V:
Though this game was darn fun until the space age...

I doubt you got the good ending first time in metro 2033, you actually have to put some effort in to get the good ending, its not something you can fluke.
Zeno Clash's ending was far from ambiguous, they outright tell you / show you that [sp]the Father-mother wasn't the children's biological parent.[/sp] But it was definitely an incredible game all around and was still very deep.
Deus Ex
Starcraft
Deus Ex
