So I logged into WoW today but I kept getting disconnected. I noticed that my character was at Un' Goro Crater yet I logged out in Northrend. Panicked, I went to my email and my battle.net account settings and changed both passwords to completely different things (they weren't the same but I changed both just in case.) That worked, I logged in. My character is only lvl 74 since I came back to WoW after 3 years and just started back up in late december. But when I logged in I noticed something... I had 300/300 Mining. Originally I never even had Mining as a profession to start with.
So, I'm asking. Has anyone dealt with a helpful hacker? I find it pretty strange.
your account got nicked and he wanted to bot on it he didnt nor does he intend you help you
I found it pretty damn helpful since I got it back.
Your account will probibly get banned soon if hes botting on it, you might want to get in contact with Blizzard and let them know that before they assume it's you botting on your own account
they wont find out, if we was botting then hes not banned. i bot 3 accounts at once and never got banned.

It's the default avatar. As in, if you don't upload something else, that's what you get.
I got my account hacked once, what he did was he scroll of rezzed his other account, payed 2 months (thus giving me a free month) and then I got my account back.
Some guy was botting on my account.
I just let him do it to his hearts content, then when i was satisfied with the amount he had farmed, i changed my password

Oh yeah because Blizzard totally bans you for being too active and successful.
actually they do ban you for being too active, e.g. moving constantly for 36 hours without a break is an obvious bot

This is world of warcraft, I know friends who've played 48 hours straight.

pretty sure i said constant movement, also there's been experiments done which show that blizzard monitor time spent, nodes farmed and communication while you're playing and they use it to ban.
Not long ago i got hacked and when i logged in, everything was there + alot of ore and max level in mining. :v:
LOl no one can beat mine this was probb a year ago i got hacked so i gett it back i hav bags full of ore 25kg and lots of jems. i got all my gear and stuff back including an additional 5kg and they used a stolen credit card for my account so i got 5 free months it was great
I remember once chatting with this guy who had a scam site up, fishing for login details with "TBC Beta" long time ago.
He scammed like 500g and gave it to me, was awesome.
It appears a double post bug happened.
I got hacked and found all my characters leveled to 85 (3 of them) when I got it recovered last week.
Something similar to this happened to my but on Guild Wars not WoW. I hadn't played for about a year or so, I come back for a bit and find out I have 1k extra platinum. Now I'm broke again.
I had this happen to me too.
After recovering my account, I had a few stacks of saronite, 300 extra gold and max mining too.
Thanks botters :buddy:

Late reply, sorry.
I logged in and spawned under the map in wintergrasp with 80% of my gear gone and half my bags filled with ore.
My sister's account got keylogged and was being played by a gold farmer. When she got her account restored blizzard restored all of the transactions he had made using the ingame mail as well as any trades. In the end of the whole ordeal she had over 4000 saronite ore, >1000 titanium ore, ~10,000 gold and numerous other expensive items.
