Revenge of the Titans has been released, and is available to download from the Puppy Games site or from Steam.
At first they came from the skies. In the ensuing war, Earth was laid waste, but we had won...
But that was just the first strike - now the invasion has landed! Defeat the returning Titan horde in a series of epic ground battles, save the Earth, again, and command the counterstrike against their homeworld!
Construct and command your ground defences in a series of increasingly massive battles across the solar system, in our frenetic arcade mash-up of Real Time Strategy and Tower Defence!
Take a visit to R&D to discover the latest technology, then build a network of blaster turrets, rocket launchers and laser cannon, explosives, barricades and shield generators, refineries and reactors, and send forth your own droid army to battle the invading alien forces!
About the Game
At first they came from the skies, and we repelled them with hired spaceships on a shoestring budget! Now they’re back, and they’re sending their ground troops to destroy our bases – thirty-ton monsters with glowing eyes and slavering jaws! And we still don’t have any money!
Quickly assemble a defensive position using blaster turrets, upgrades, tiny battledroids, barricades, mines, tangleweb, whilst obtaining the necessary funds by mining nearby resources as the relentless march of the Titans approaches the base. Research new technology and buildings as you defend the Earth bases throughout the solar system from the Titan onslaught. This is the ultimate mash-up of real-time strategy and tower defense.
Key Features:
50 level campaign mode across Earth, Moon, Mars, Saturn and Titan itself
29 buildings and 40 technologies to research
Relaxing Endless game mode
Hectic Survival game mode with online hiscores

This does look interesting but the price is a bit steep don't you think?
I would tell you if I would preorder it based on the demo, however, I seem too be having trouble installing it, on both my computers, so not very good first impressions.
EDIT: Sorted it, just had to run as an admin.
Looks incredibly derivative. Maybe I've been jaded by the numerous tower defense games on the iPhone, but this looks like nothing new. Rather a LOT like this, really.
This indie group churns out great little games. I was playing their other game called Droid Assault, but damn they charge so much for their games.
looks well made
I bought it because it was half-off. Its pretty fun.
Why can't indie devs make more games like Penumbra and not games I can play for free on Kongregate.
A new update for the demo/beta has been released!
“Earthlings! Some of you are still attempting to thwart our awesome might using your puny version 1.0 turrets! Perhaps you would fare better if you downloaded the new 1.1 release and installed it over the top of your old and busted version!”
Things which have Changed
Mouse scroll speed is now fixed
Slightly more useful mouse speed adjustment range (default position 3 of 10)
The gidrahs do not start their advance until you place your first refinery. Go and make a cup of tea, look around, maybe place a few defences in strategical locations!
Going back a few levels to try a different tactic now works as you’d expect it to
You now get a bonus for recycling at the end of a level: your buildings are all sold for 40% of their original purchase price, scaled by their remaining hit points, to the nearest 50$. This is paving the way for the SELL BUILDING button which will appear with the Mars update at the end of June.
…but now the integrity bonus of the Moon base is smaller to compensate
The earlier levels will be ever so slightly harder than they were before
The game now ends at the end of the Moon (registered or not) because it’s a bit pointless playing any further at this stage, as Mars and so forth are completely unfinished placeholders!
Hopefully the Mac crash when you place a refinery is fixed. But without a Mac to test it on I won’t know until you bug me.
We’ve been carefully listening to all the feedback we can find on the whole internet and subtly planning modifications of various sorts that will come with the Mars levels.
Quick Tips
A fair few people have commented on the amount of clicking you’ve got to do in the game. You should know the following things:
You can click and drag when harvesting refineries, reloading, and building! Mouse down, wiggle all over factories, release, done. Likewise you can paint a line of turrets or reload them all.
Every button on the UI has a shortcut key. The three most useful ones are R, to go to the next empty turret; E, to go to the next full refinery; and Q, to take you straight to your base. TAB will fast forward the action in dull moments.
Right-click on a building to select that sort of building in build mode. No need to hunt around in the little icons if you can see another such building already on the screen.
The game evolves over time. It will eventually become impossible for you to manually deal with harvesting all your refineries and reloading your turrets. Certain avenues of research will glean you buildings that will do the job for you. The game evolves from a micromanagement cross between Cake Mania and tower defence into a macro management and strategical game.
Another few tips you might want to know, if you’re struggling with the difficulty sometimes:
Build as many refineries as can possibly fit around all the crystals you can find. It only takes two full harvests to make $100 profit!
If you get owned, replay the level. It will be a bit easier next time around. If you’re really at a dead end, go back a level or two by going back to the title screen - your progress is preserved at each level (until you go back levels)
Level 18 is hard. Be prepared! Make sure you’ve got plenty of money before you start it. Maybe skip a level of research.
The game is great, very fun. It has a difficulty scale like Homeworld 2 did, except if you fail and have to redo a level it takes pity on you and makes it a bit easier.
However I fucking hate how you have to manually reload every single gun emplacement and manually collect the harvested ore of every single refinery. It's already getting to be too much at like levels 5-6, especially when you've got enemies coming from 4+ directions.
I'm glad this the attention that it deserved, also bump due to relevance.
Does anyone have any tips?

herp derp there are tower defense games on kongregate, must mean this one is exactly like them!
I fucking love this game. Yeah it's your standard tower defense game, but the graphics are so nice.
Ha, I posted in this thread a while ago. It is a pretty great tower defense, but honestly with other games like Defense Grid, it's just not worth the thirty bucks and never really could be. It's worth picking up in the Humble Indie Bundle, of course.

Because the people who make games on kongregate are also indie devs?
This game looks incredibly awesome, the music in the trailer is also great.
But it is really expensive I must admit. Will look forward to it though.
I didn't really like it.
Not my kind of game I guess.
Why does it take like an hour to load something on first startup? Or is it just me?
Didn't happen for me when I played the beta/demo a while ago. I honestly haven't even installed it through HIB 2 since I've been busy with Braid and Machinarium.
Great tower defense.
How does the first refinery upgrade work though?
Edit:
Also something that has been bugging me. When a round ends, do you get all of the un-mined minerals?

You don't, You need to mine all the minerals while you're fighting the titans, I personally build a shit ton of refineries.

But at the end it shows a number of salvaged minerals :s.

Que? salvaged minerals?
Que? salvaged minerals?
Ya, complete a level without mining it all and it seems to give you some money.

oh shit really.
Not really my kind of game.
I really dislike the slow fire rate of turrets, and the fact you have to buy super expensive buildings to have them autoreload.
How do I do the shit that is like on the pictures that OP posted. I can't even build that many.
I got this with my humble indie bundle but I haven't gotten around to installing it

Get the cooldown addon, 1 of them costs 250 and they stack 4 times. Reloading is a part of the game. Its a luxury to have them auto reload. But even then its better to manually so you dont have them all reloading at once.

save your money. If you spend all of it on upgrades you aren't going to have much for the rounds.
This is really well made, and the graphics are really nice to look at.
I'd buy it.
