They just released the first non-beta build of Kreedz Climbing for Half Life 2. For those of you who don't know, Kreedz Climbing is a non-violent jumping puzzle mod based off some old goldsrc era game modes. The maps are amazing and plentiful, and the game can be a lot of fun.

A little unrelated, but can anyone explain something to me - a lot of people who play CS do that annoying wavy motion with their mouse when they jump. I mean, even if they're just jumping directly forward onto something at the same height etc as them, they still do it. Is it a random twitch thing people do like constantly switching weapons?
I can understand it when trying to jump around corners but even when just jumping straight ahead? It's so annoying in the video above!!
Anyway, definitely going to get my friend to download this too because those 'races' look like a blast.

air acceleration:
its kind of like skating a half pipe but in 2d, you keep air strafing and moving the mouse and you will gain velocity
the real mechanic is one to enable subtle movement when in the air, but its 'exploited' so you gain the movement and incorporate it into your jumps, adding the acceleration every time if you have enough skill. honestly once you grasp how it works it comes naturally
So it's climb.

I haven't played this mod since like 2006
I need to get back into Kreedz Climbing...

Does anyone else have trouble installing this? It keeps on saying it's corrupt.
They made strafe jumping way too hard in this version.
Bunnyhopping is a lot of fun, even though I'm pretty bad at it.

its the same as 1.6, how it works in cs:s is waaay to easy and gives scripters every world record

Oh yay climbing, and a bunch of other gamemodes I have no skill at (longjumping, double ducking, bunnyhopping, surfing... :frown:)
After seeing this thread, I gave this mod a try. I really love it. I'm not so good at all these things, but it's a great way to practice.
Just got 2:28 on KZ_xmas2010 on course 1. So damn happy!
I'd like to see the people who complained about HL's platforming play this
