Devil's Tuning Fork is a first-person exploration/puzzle game in which the player must navigate an unknown world using visual sound waves. Inspired by M.C. Escher’s classic optical illusion and the echolocation of dolphins, The Devil’s Tuning Fork allows the player to explore a new mode of perception through sound visualization. As a mysterious epidemic causes children everywhere to fall into comas, one child wakes up in an alternate reality. It is up to this child, the player, to determine the cause of the epidemic and save the other children trapped here. By way of the devil's tuning fork, a magical instrument that allows the player to perceive sound waves, the player must find all the children and successfully escape this alternate reality, thereby waking up from the coma.
Big pictures Videos Debut trailer Introduction gameplay http://www.gametrailers.com/video/introduction-gameplay-devils-tuning/60598?type=flv Not yet on youtube http://devilstuningfork.com/index.php Fuck me, it has been released. looks neat
Umm, this was posted earlier, and also, this is released, isn't it? It's still a good game though.
Searched but found no thread. And yeah it has been released, my fault
Downloading now. This is a really creative idea.
Bleh. I can't play it because apparently it requires shader model 3, which I don't have. Same thing happened with igneous. Edit: Nevermind, apparently that was fixed in a newer version, since I don't have that problem anymore.
I didn't like it. Instead of having something unique, it is a boring first person plat former with an annoying gimmick of pressing the mouse button constantly, which is something most gamers do anyways.
I just read M.C esher, and I lol'd I played it before, it tends to lag alot on a 8400, so I uninstalled it. Interesting game though.
That was short. I was expecting something scarier/creepier for some ending type boss thing, but there was nothing. I liked the game though. The fact that everything has moving lines on it makes me feel like I'm moving the entire time, which combined with the only see parts that have been lit up thing, make me go, "Woah, that's odd." [editline]10:53PM[/editline] Oh gosh, now my screen looks like it's pulsing lighter and darker.
Really REALLY cool concept but from the video's it just looks like a glorified flashlight where all you do is collect some animals. Not to mention the walls for whatever reason look like they "pulse" with sound which kind of makes the whole mechanic redundant IMO lol. I always wondered what it would be like to have a game that works primarily via sounds/etc because the main protagonist is on a world that "cannot be seen" or something like that.
Game creeps me out, it isn't scary, but it creeps me out
It's a good game. The kids make me sad, and the music doesn't help. I give this a 20 out of 10
It's a fun game to play for an ambient feel. It's not particularly hard and it's kind of graphics intensive at times, but the ambience is fun. The music is really nice, though the ending is agreeably lackluster--but honestly, it's just the right length for that kind of gameplay, leaving you feeling like, "Well, that was interesting and fun." Recommended play. Free, quick download, all that jazz.
It looks good. The graphics (if you can call it that) looks beutifull too. I just think I'll get annoyed by seeing everything in waves.
Finished it, fun.
Been itching a unique game experience like this for a while, finished it, t'was pretty awesome, and the style/atmosphere was great.
