here's a old mod for golden source I've just dig up.
cthulhu - an unspeakable mod
stolen from molddb:
Cthulhu is a single-player modification for Half-Life.
It contains 65 maps, 21 new monsters and 14 new weapons.
Aeons ago, Earth was ruled by The Great Old Ones, beings so alien and terrible that merely seeing them would drive most people mad. Before man's ancestors climbed down from the trees, these being were defeated in a war with The Elder Gods.
But their alien nature meant that they could not be slain in any way that we would understand, so they were imprisoned.
And so they wait, patient and potent until the stars are right and they shall walk forth once again and wipe mankind from the face of the Earth.
You play Ranulf Stafford, an occult investigator in Arkham in the year 1928. Drawn into a nightmare chain of events, you find yourself the only thing standing between mankind and the return of Cthulhu, one of the most dreadful of The Great Old Ones
damn.
does anyone have goldsource?.
dinosaurs?
sold.
what dinosaurs?
this is h.p. Lovecraft, not Steven Spielberg.
I was thinking of getting it once, but I heard that it had no ending.
:cthulhu:
Goldsrc is old but always gold :smug:
I was thinking of getting it once, but I heard that it had no ending.
really?
Fucking love the cthulhu mythos,
dling
I remember playing this, you can tell the author really wanted to make something cool and there are really a lot of neat ideas but the level design is really sub-par and the sound effects are downright laughable (the V.A. is ridiculous).
I also got stuck in Innsmouth's harbour and didn't even bother reloading an earlier save (one of the elder ones, as a boss, just got frozen during a cutscene so it blocks the whole game hurray)

it would be cool if someone made a remake in source and fix these things.
Oh please, not this mod again. It's really bad. Don't get me wrong, I respect the author's hard work, but the gameplay is frustrating as hell. I love the part with the little monsters that come out of the cows. There is a section where you get chased by an invisible monster.

[sp]Your characters ends up locked in the Arkham Asylum.[/sp]
maybe gufu [sp] was put in arkam asylum, but escaped and does not remember anything[/sp]
[sp]You get to kill the Cthulhu in a boss battle at the end of the game.[/sp]
So yeah, if you want a true Cthulhu game, either get the Dark Corners of the Earth, or the classic adventure games, but if you like to torture yourself, go ahead and play this mod.
Those screenshots look fucking hilarious.
I also recommend the first Alone in the Dark game (by Frédérick Raynal), if you're into Lovecraft and Cthulhu.
My eyes hurt from those screenshots.
i don't have the stream version of hl1
where can i find this "stream"
You don't know what Stream is?
Stream is one of the best Digital Distribution Clients out there! It was made by Lake, ran by Gabriel Walker, and they have made hit games such as Full-Death, SinglePlayer Castle 3, Hole, Arrived 4 Life, and everyone's favourite, Reverse-Hit.
