Can someone help me find a guide to get started in creating a private server?

We don't really take kindly to private servers around here, we play retail.
If you're too stupid to Google for a minute then you're too stupid to set up a private server.

private servers should be bannable
Why would you want to make a private server? That takes the challenge out of everything, and that means 1- taking the fun away, and 2- being just plain boring, well at least in my opinion.

Exploring, Glitching, Dicking around, playing with your friends (Sexually), Lack of money. There are plenty of reason to make your own Private servers.
cause u totally cant explore, dick around or play with your friends on a normal server, glitching? not enough money? sounds like u have some ~l2p~ issues

I own retail, and I enjoy the game fine, I'm just wondering if someone could help me find a guide to launch a private server over Hamachi or something for the sole purpose of machinima. I really didn't think I would have to specify a reason to avoid "Dumb" ratings, so thanks I appreciate it.
I've tried a few guides, but the method to creating a server seems to change for certain patches.

On the contrary, I've been gathering a team for a machinima film for about a month now, and we're ready to start filming certain scenes ingame.

They already got over $50 from me, so if I choose to use the client I paid for the play a private server, I feel as if I have the right to.

Yes, I did. I paid for it because I played wow retail before I played on a private server. If I have to, I'll go get my camera and take a picture of my battlechest. Then you can apologize for making ridiculous assumptions.

I understand you bought the battlechest, but you didn't pay for the client.
The battlechest contains the DVD-roms which contain the client. I paid for these CDs with the client. I know you aren't permitted to use the client on private servers, but I don't really care.

No, sorry. You're paying for a license(and/or right) to use the client within the TOS/TOA/EULA/TOU/Other agreements. You're NOT paying for the client to use as you please. You would know this if you payed attention to the stuff you agree to.
And seeing as using your license to play on private servers is against the agreements, you've voided it and can be sued. Will you? Probably not, but what you payed for was far from buying the client.
Read agreements, kiddo.

Way to give us your character names and openly admit to wanting to host a private server. Now I'm not sayin' the EULA is fair, but it does state you can be banned for this stuff and you pretty much dug your own grave.
