Necessary thread music Luigi's Mansion was the shit. I haven't played it in a couple of years, but I remember being genuinely creeped out at a few parts. It had interesting puzzles, a cool plot (Mario gets lost in a mansion. Shit doesn't happen every day) and you got to play as good old Luigi for a change. The themed ghosts were the best. Different personalties, different ways to vacuum their ghostly ghoulish bums. You'd be walking around a room when suddenly a ghost pops out of a damn painting and Luigi poops his overalls. For those of you who weren't privileged enough to play it, Luigi wins a whole mansion in some kind of contest and decides to bring his bro Mario along for a housewarming party. Turns out the mansion is a shitter and looks eerie as balls. Mario gets lost (Who remembers calling out 'Mariiioooooo?!') and Luigi ends up going in the mansion to save him for once. Turns out there's a local doc hanging about, Professor E. Gadd. He hands Luigi a 'Gameboy Horror' and a vacuum cleaner-turned-ghostbuster. Luigi sucks up the ghosts that haunt the mansion and to find Mario. LM was the shit back in the day. It might just be the nostalgia, but I remember having fun. What bothers me is that Nintendo never made a sequel on the Wii; a system fucking perfect for the gameplay. You would use the Wiimote as a makeshift vacuum cleaner and suck the shit out of those ghosts. I wouldn't even mind a port, to be honest. Instead Nintendo is doing a remake for the Nintendo 3DS. While that is fine and dandy, it feels like a missed opportunity to have it on the Wii. Luigi's Mansion hasn't been completely forgotten, though. There was a Luigi's Mansion level in both Super Smash Bros Brawl & Mario Kart DS, plus Luigi's kart in MKDS was the Poltergust vacuum cleaner. Maybe it's a good thing not to do a sequel on the Wii. Maybe Nintendo would rather preserve what's left of Luigi's Mansion as a heartly good time and not slap on a sequel. Who the fuck knows? To make up some extra space for this post, I'm just going to steal some videos and shit related to Luigi's Mansion to waste your time. It was said that in the room with the telephones, during the blackout scene where Luigi answers a phone, you can see a shadow of Luigi's corpse hanging from the ceiling with a noose around his neck when lightning strikes. It wasn't until an entire year later that a guy called "Aska49" discovered the cause... Part 1: Easter Egg or Glitch? Part 2: Experiment Even though it is most likely a glitch, it is still eerie...
Mega64 did a parody of it. Fairly accurate. Here's 10 minutes of gameplay at the beginning of the game for those who want to reminisce or just haven't seen how it plays before. Best game ever
http://wasa-bi-redux.deviantart.com/gallery/25832558 pssst
Very nice but that is fan art. Don't get me excited like that, baby.
Best Gamecube game ever to grace Nintendo. Actually, best Nintendo game ever.
Damn good game. Always had trouble with the big boo at the end of... stage 3 i think it was. Don't have the game or a gamecube anymore though so :C
I remember beating the game at least twice. Got all the boo's on my second playthrough. I never got that much cash though :(
Very nice but that is fan art. Don't get me excited like that, baby.
Yeah, meant more of just showing it off then "HEY LOOK A SEQUEL" Person's even remade the intro and several other things
On 3DS? You just validated my purchase of one. I don't think it's necesary for it to be on the wii, and I don't think they should do a sequel. Just leave it at 1 remake.
Must find where I put this.
My first and probably favorite Gamecube game. I didn't even have a memory card right away so I replayed the first part so many times
This game scared my sisters when they watched me play it.
Loved this game, it oozed with character.
"Mariooooo? Maaaaario? Maaaaaaariiooooooooo?!"
Oh the memories of this game. Probably one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. The scares were good, the humor was good, the level design was great, the graphics were pretty incredible for the time, and it was all around just a great game. If you have a Gamecube and haven't played this game, you haven't lived.
Some very good memories with this game. We/My Father ordered the Gamecube online, and got it two days before it released in stores. With it we got 4 games, Luigi's Mansion, Wave Runner (I think that was what it was called), Rogue Squadron, and Madden (I believe). It's short as hell, but everything that's there is polished to a mirror shine. Really just awesome trying to suck up a ghost and getting dragged along as it tried to fly away.

Boolossuss or whatever pissed me off so much. I loved this game.
This was the first game I go with my Gamecube. I believe that was in 2002. Ah, the memories.
Hmmm.... First game I got on the Gamecube. I never really knew a lot about video games back then when I was 6 or 7, I just knew that I like them. I thought Luigi's Mansion was going to be bad because I like Mario better. Boy, I watched my brother play it and it was amazing. It scared me too much to play it and I still have never really beaten it (from start to finish) but there is just something about it that makes it amazing. [editline]26th March 2011[/editline] Even after all these years. And the effects are STILL top-notch.
Press (B, was it?) to Mario Truly this game was the predecessor to Heavy Rain, not Fahrenheit Anyway, I finished Luigi's Mansion all the way through (infact, it's one of the few games I've 100% cleared). Fantastic game. On the cube itself, we got a launch day purple one, came with this, Sonic Adventure 2, some BMX game (which was a truckload of fun), and Wave Race. Fuck, I loved the cube so much that I own four of the bastards. I'll take a picture some day (with my extensive library)
Luigi's Mansion beats Amnesia and Penumbra
I can't believe I actually got scared playing this whenever I did, must of been 12 or something yes I used to be a pansy when it came to video games Now one of my favourite game series is Silent Hill, go figure
i remember when this game had the best graphics ever
I bought this game before i bought a gamecube. We had a gamecube preordered. And then they called to say someone else we know took our cube. We had to order it elsewhere and wait 2 weeks :(
I just bought a gamecube, a memory pak & 2 controllers for 10 dollars. Also got luigis mansion & a couple of other games. (Most of them so scratched they wont work. :sigh: ) Time to play luigis mansion :buddy:
this and super mario sunshine were perfect fits on the wii why they never bothered making sequels beats me [editline]27th March 2011[/editline]
I just bought a gamecube, a memory pak & 2 controllers for 10 dollars. I have this game, I got to the final boss and gave up because I couldn't beat it. haven't dug it out or really nostalgia'd over it yet, but recently my neighbors kid that I babysit on some days started playing Luigi's Mansion on his gamecube. He couldn't get past the first room where you have to blow out the candles and then the pictures talk, so when I was over there this week I played it for him and beat up to the ballroom dancers(and that room off to the side), after that, I spent about ten minutes trying to figure out where to go next before I had to leave. He doesn't even have a memory card for his gamecube. I still don't know where to go after the ballroom, do you have to go back into the bathroom? I remember a ghost being in there having a shower. also, the paintings in the gallery scared the piss out of me when I was younger. [editline]26th March 2011[/editline] In fact, I've got my gamecube in my room and I've been playing SSX3 for the past while, I'm gonna dig up my old copy of LM and re-play it

[sp]Suck up those exploding spiky balls, blast them at robot bowser's head, then suck up king boo. Repeat and profit.[/sp]
Last boss I remember doing was in the weight training room, too scared to play after that. I was young and a bitch
