• Is using SMOD as a mod base a good idea?

Just asking. It has lua, so shit's simpler to work with.
It's pretty outdated, though it is a good base.

That's why i'm asking :smile: it seems to be a very useful tool
If you don't mind lacking some of the newest graphical features, it's definitely a good idea
Smod2 uses the Orange box engine, but it doesn't have the same features, it is getting updated, but it might not be getting any since the developer lives in Japan, and is anonymous. [editline]28th March 2011[/editline] [url]http://smod.wikidot.com/[/url] will help a bit
It's not a terrible idea. Make sure your story and gameplay elements are great, kids these days can't stand to play a game if it doesn't have the most recent graphics update, which SMOD lacks.
Yes, Underhell was a fantastic mod and I would prefer a smod mod rather than an HL2 mod to be honest.
