• Games with diverse landscapes?

I mean games that make you want to explore. Somewhat like the Unique Landscapes mod for Oblivion. Preferably not an MMO. [editline]10:04PM[/editline] Something like there being huge trees in one area, a swamp in another, or even something like a floating isle. [editline]10:05PM[/editline] Just worlds with a lot of different landscapes and stuff, I guess.
GTA San Andreas. WoW has lots of places to explore, so does Star Wars: Galaxies. [editline]03:10AM[/editline] Also, apparently Wurm Online
Morrowind. S.T.A.L.K.E.R: call of Pripyat
Dwarf Fortress I am not shitting you
Whoa, dude. Seriously? Cause I'm pretty sure you're shitting us
All of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. Far Cry 2 Crysis Fallout 3
All of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. Far Cry 2 Crysis Fallout 3
Fallout 3? Not as much as I'd like. Unless you count DLC, but still. It's just brown earth combined with green tint and a couple of settlements. [editline]10:26PM[/editline]
Whoa, dude. Seriously? Cause I'm pretty sure you're shitting us
Actually, if you imagine what the things would look like, or use a visualizer, it's pretty cool.
As said before, Far Cry 2. Tis a good game.
As said before, Far Cry 2. Tis a good game.
Yeah, I got to up until... well, I don't remember, but it had something to do with killing the king of Africa or some such stuff. Then Red Faction 3 came out.
Shadow of the Colossus.
Wurm online. Oblivion.
Oblivion with mods.
Elder Scrolls IV STALKER series
Elder Scrolls IV
No. Oblivion has some of the most "samey" landscape ever.
Whoa, dude. Seriously? Cause I'm pretty sure you're shitting us
Then you never played Dwarf fortress.
Super Mario 64
Super Mario 64
Actually, this makes sense considering there's hundreds of worlds [editline]10:55PM[/editline] not hundreds, but still
Typically the Legend of Zelda games. Go for Majora's Mask.
I actually am looking for newer games that people could have easier access to. See, my N64 broke three years ago.
Actually, if you imagine what the things would look like
that defeats the point of having a game that has diverse landscapes
that defeats the point of having a game that has diverse landscapes
Not really, because it does have diverse landscapes. Let's see... There's mountains, gigantic forests, huge pitfalls, arctic lands, and other stuff like that. It's like playing a book. Furthermore, books are made so you can make a picture in your head, since most games wouldn't be able to run it if it had modern graphics. [editline]11:13PM[/editline] Hell, not a lot of games can play it now, since it runs so many equations at once.
Books can't have modern graphics either. :smug:

I'm fairly certain you don't mean a game running another game inside of it.
A mental image can beat virtual graphics anyday usually atleast ok nevermind
Sigh. It disappoints me that FP has no imagination.
Pokemon :smug:
Well, uh, I guess mental images are more suited to your liking, so they are always perfect for you. That's the difference between reading a book and seeing something, books have more freedom in allowing you to imagine what something looks like.
Morrowind and Oblivion Oblivion is more detail morrowind has a alot more
Sigh. It disappoints me that FP has no imagination.
I can imagine two girls doing it. Why would I though, there's porn on the internet.
Diablo and its clones tend to have pretty varied environments, even if they aren't as "open-ended" as ones like Oblivion. Diablo 2: Wooded swamp area, Desert area, Jungle area, Hell area, Mountain area, and some various caves in-between Titan Quest: A hell of a lot of Greece, Egypt, and China. Basically every kind of biome is seen in that game, from tropical to icy, and several otherworldly places. Probably has the best variety of environments of all the Diablo clones, despite them not being randomly generated. Torchlight: Mining tunnels, necropolis, jungle ruins, molten prison, dwarf fortress, hellish-lookin place...
