• Renting out Game servers - How's this for an offer?

Right, so I've got this brilliant idea of renting a server, and selling out of it for game servers. I need your opinion on these things: I've been looking around, and I've decided to use WHMCS for payments, and either TCadmin or GameCP for control panel. (Post which you prefer/critics) €0.75 per slot for Source games (Post how it's too expensive and you're too poor to afford it/your opinion) Serverhost: serverloft.eu (Post baww i'm not european, please buy american/other critics) 50GB of space with 1TB of bandwidth for websites/fast download/porn stash. No cpanel though, just ftp (Post critics/opinions) I'd need a list of games aswell. It's probably just gonna be a ton of source games, such as CS:S, TF2, Gmod perhaps. This is gonna be very small, no ikea v2, just me (maybe a mate) who'll be running this. As I'm not doing it for the profit (I doubt there'll be any) I'll be donating (the inexcisting) profit to the gift giving thread. I might throw in a 32 slot server for a couple of months, so that the raffle gets some content. Edit: You guys are dicks. Stop idling out on the topic for 3 hours, then posting making me think you care, then going away again for another 5 hours.

H-lol
I do not suck :(
If I post which one is better, will you give me half of all the money you make?
Gonna state the obvious- -When someone shops around for a server, they look at different companies and decide which one looks like the best choice. -If a business is hard to find, then potential customers might not find it. -Price is important. -Reputation/experience/longevity is important, but if you have some sort of grand opening sale and/or ask people for testimonials, getting over the hump could be pretty painless. That's pretty much it. If the price is right, and you have a professional website that's easy to find, and you keep customers satisfied once you get them, then you can make a profit. There's other stuff to consider (is the market too saturated? just how many companies are offering what you're looking into?) .. but I'll leave the market research to you, since I'm not actually in the server biz probably not too helpful, but there, I posted.
I would probably rent one!
Won't you lose money doing this?

I hadn't really though about website and such, but I'm currently studying website designing at my school so that'll come in handy (6 lovely weeks :woop::sigh:) Most of these are avoided due to the fact that I'll be doing this for the heck of it (too much spare time) and not for the profit, meaning I don't have to sell for those €1 - €2 per slot to pay for tons of crap, and so I've calculated that €0.75 is a reasonable price per slot which would pay for the usage on the server. In the end, the server should be capable of paying off itself and still giving reliable results for the server owners. I won't be advertising it all over the internet, probably just here on facepunch and a few other forums that I know. If shit starts to go wild, I'll buy a second server and maybe a third, but I can't be bothered going any further than 3 servers, too much supporting and crap like that, seeing as each of these servers should do around 8x32 slot sourcemod servers, and if there's 24 different people who buys a 32 slot server then there's 24 people constantly whining about pointless things they might aswell do themselfs, using whichever control panel is selected. (TCAdmin or GameCP)
Won't you lose money doing this?
To make a profit I'd have to sell atleast 175 slots at the price of €0.75 (or 8x 22 slots costing €16,5 a month each) otherwise I would lose profit. I won't earn any profit though, as I'll probably be using it on the gift giving thread as stated in the OP.
