The Evil Lord Dungeon Master, tired of seeing his Grand Plan for World Domination™ constantly being thwarted by nosy, big-chinned heroes, is scheming to stop them once and for all! Description With the aid of a considerable loan from the Evil Overlord Foundation™, Dungeon Master has laboriously built a nefarious theme park, tempting adventurers with a chance to explore the most dangerous and exotic places, fight the most powerful monsters and possess the most wondrous magical items. To this most unlikely place, he gave the name… Dungeonland. Playing as The Rogue, The Warrior or The Mage, players will loot, level up, customize their hero and acquire new skills as they work their way through waves of monsters and traps leading all the way through deadly dungeons. From deadly jungles, to lush magical gardens and a dragon's lair, players will adventure through meticulously crafted themed environments all the way up to the tower of Dungeon Master himself. Features Cooperative/single player hack & slash action. Gear – Equip your character with items found in-game or bought with gold. Simultaneous local and online multiplayer Multiplayer with a twist – Dungeon Master Mode. Replayability - Dungeon Master AI randomizes monsters, treasures and dangers each session to create a unique experience; player choice in equipping items creates endless combinations for more variety. Colorful game world – three different theme park environments to explore. Dozens of enemies, items, abilities and mini-bosses. I'm so excited for this game, that Dungeon Master mode looks extremely fun.
So, where's the beta?
I am Dungeonmaster. ?
When I first heard about this I was hoping it would be another Grand Strategy game where you play as a randomly generated nation on a randomly generated world ala Dwarf Fortress World Gen.
Maybe Castle Story may take your fancy
No, I meant having world generation be similar to DF, not the gameplay. The gameplay was supposed to be the Typical Grand Strategy affair.
The game's being released today, for those wondering. Judging by the beta, it's fantastic and without a doubt worth your money. Here's some more media: Dungeon Master Mode Trailer: Launch trailer: And if you're looking for more gameplay, here's TotalBiscuit, his wife Genna, Jesse Cox and Dodger playing: I highly recommend buying this, it's released in an hour or two and is amazing.
Hm... might have to check this out.
Augh, approximately one fucking hour to go.
I hope Dungeon Master mode is awesome, I love that kind of thing.
Well who would've guessed, it's late for release, curse you steam!
Just pressed "Play" via browser and Steam started downloading stuff. It's a GO! Rofl error: missing game executable ( better yet, missing all files, since there are none in steamapps/common/dungeonland ) Fook you Steam crap!
It's out :) Only found out about this game an hour ago but it looks awesome. Kinda reminds me of Zombie Master.

Just restart steam and it should download correctly.
I don't like how the only way to be DM is to host a server or play against bots. I can't host with my net so the main reason I bought this is now gone. Ugh this game is awful. Like really, it's unplayable due to the technical issues. - One of the gamemodes is only playable if you host - No ping in server browser or in-game - 95% of the servers lag like balls, and the above doesn't help with that - Hit detection, especially on bosses makes me want to break out in tears, again, lag doesn't help either - Music is insanely annoying after 5 minutes, felt like a 30 second loop the entire time I played - Sound starts to get choppy after 5 minutes with it "tearing" - There seems to be some memory-leak-like issues where your game dramatically slows down after about a minute of play. - Menus are ridiculously laggy at some points - Joining a server is as buggy as hell, the loading screen will appear and then just throw you off your profile sometimes I really wanted to enjoy this but I'm wondering if I should wait to see if it gets better or request a refund from Steam because after-all, as I said, I can't even play the part of the game that I looked forward to the most.
Well this game is really fun, fighting friends as the Dungeon master is a blast. 2 major downsides so far, the game is quite unoptimized which suprises me as there was a beta. Even on my beasty rig I get fps stutter every 20 seconds or so and at times the FPS just go all over the place. Also sometimes in the menu there seems to be massive FPS loss. Second is that for some reason to really host/play you need to have ports 25002 open which I see a lot of people have closed when I'm looking for games but it doesn't actually tell you that unless you try joining, so the host will never know. I have a feeling that could hurt the multiplayer side quite a bit as people will be clueless on how to port forward or even know that they need to forward ports. Hopefully with a patch to optimize it and some cool DLC aswell, it could be a very popular game. I certainly enjoy it
Seems like you only get 3 difficulty modes. Hard, harder and impossible. Changing the difficulty in DM just changes it to Hard.
More people need to buy this game. It`s fun as fuck with friends.
More people need to buy this game. It`s fun as fuck with friends.
what if we don't have any friends
This game is incredibly fun when I can battle through all of my connectivity issues and actually get into a game.
Reallly fun. More people need to know about this game, the first minutes are maybe frustrating but when you understand the gameplay it's awesome.

It's essentially Left 4 Dead from a top-down perspective and with a few RPG elements with the addition of perks.
