I'm in the midst of a debate with my friend over whether or not there are more casual or competitive gamers out there playing games, and statistics on such things seem to be short in supply, so I ask you Facepunchers:
Are you a competitive or casual gamer?
Edit: Poll is up.
I'd say casual, I suck at competitive gameplay.
I'm casual but I play a lot and I like to win. I would never join any clan or tournament/league though.
A lot of competitive gamers take things way too seriously.
I'm not good enough to be competitive, nor do I care enough to be.
I do rage sometimes when I get killed, but I guess that's almost everyone.
I am neither really. I am whatever I am in the mood for. If I am in the mood to just sit back and relax and have fun, then I just have fun. If I am in the mood to whoop ass, then I whoop ass (Or try to haha.)
I didn't expect me to be the only competitive gamer until now. I might rage sometimes, but I usually just hit my keyboard and that's it.
Casual.
I don't even care if I die in a game. Of course I try not to die but I wont rage if I do. I simply look at what I did wrong that got me killed and I try to correct it.
When I say competitive, I mean actually doing clan matches and stuff like that. Not just someone who takes pubbing seriously.
Im a casual gamer honestly. Video games are just too fun for me to take so seriously.
I play for fun, whatever that entails.
Edit:
I guess that's casual. But I do play a decent amount, and I do play competitively if I'm in the mood.
why not include something in between?
some games I casually play, but some I play competitively.
Casual. The only game where I got even moderately serious was Planetside, and that was to show up at my outfit's scheduled meetings and raids.
Competitively as in like clans and stuff? If so hell no but I wouldn't call myself a casual player either.
I'm generally a competitive gamer, I play Source and scrim and shit, I don't do league play anymore, but I make fragmovies or clips or whatever and post them on YouTube.
And in WoW, to me there isn't much point playing the game extremely casually if you're going to play at all; you have to have some sort of competitive drive, in PvP and shit. WoW is a game that takes commitment, if you play it, you play it for real.
Sadly, games aren't made that have any competitive air anymore, its all about singleplayer RPGs with pretty graphics and cool features.
I really want a Counter Strike 2.
Normally casual, but sometimes losing aint fun, then i get competitive, but i have a casual behavior, not being a asshole to team, something healthy.
Competitive.
competitive, have played cevo cal and esea in cs:s
used to be competitive, right now I am casual, but I plan on being putting some hours into sc2
Casual. Not to brag, but I'm very good and I play alot of games. I just don't think I would make it a lifestyle. I'm going to major in Game Design though... Would that be considered making gaming a lifestyle?
Depends. Most of the time casual, but if I'm going up against my friends to test my skills I go competitive.
im a pro gamer i am compatative
Casual. I used to play competitively, but then I had a sudden epiphany and I started to not care about being on top of the score boards.
I'm very competitive, but I hide it in a very casual way, not raging at everyone and everything, however I'm willing to do almost anything to win (except cheating in unfair ways)
I'm casual. I suck at playing games half the time anyway. When I feel competetive though I do a lot better than I usually do.
I'm casual, I have few competative games, and the ones that are, 60% of the times I just have fun.
Games like MAG, CoD, and other shooters tend to turn me more competative though.
A little of both.
I'm casually competitive.
I tick competitive cause I do both. And I don't do clans.
Casual, the only time I gamerage is during MW2.
(What the fuck, random lucky shots up the ass and the shitty matchmaking where I join a team that is losing by 3000 points.)
Casual. I like having fun with my games.
