So, I just went to play on my Xbox 360, where I turned on the console, pressed the open tray button, and it opened. I accidentally tapped the front of the disk trap when taking out the disc that was already in there (I mean tapped, very lightly, barely hard enough to make it close, you know, where you just push on it a little bit and it automatically closes), and now the disc tray won't open. I press the eject button, and it makes that click sound like it's opening, but it just stays as it is. Then, a few seconds later, it does it again, and stops. What the fuck is going on? If I open the tray manually, will it fuck the Xbox up?
Just get a crowbar or something and pry/smash it open.
If you accidentally break it, tell Microsoft it tried to kill itself and get them to replace it and buy you a new crowbar.
that was a bad attempt at being funny
This happened to me, apply pressure to the disk tray with one finger while it is closed and jiggle it about a bit.
Nevermind, I turned it off, turned it sideways (I have it standing up because it's in an Xbox 360 stand I got for Christmas, and that's the only way the Xbox can go in the stand, by standing it up) and turned it back on, and the tray opens as it's supposed to.

You wont fuck up the xbox but you might damage the mechanism that opens up the disk tray slightly. It should be fine this has happened to me a few times and I just stuck a butter knife under the edge enough so I could grip it and pull it open.

Why reply? Posts like these not only make you look like a stupid asshole, but you also can get banned for being one.
If it happens again which it probably will now it has started, it will be a tad harder to open. Usually what I do is push the drive in with your index finger and push eject and release pressure just as the drive is about to open.
Also it tends to get stuck A LOT less if there's a disk in the tray, so keep a disk in at all times unless necessary.

Ah shit, I hope it doesn't, but thanks for the help, everybody. I usually do keep a disc in the tray, I closed it on accident that one time.
give up and buy a PS3?

DERP :downs:
There should be a very small hole somewhere on the front where you can push a needle into, it should release the lock on the drive tray. The original XBOX had this and most disc drives do.
If that doesn't work, pop it open with some tools and unscrew the top of the DVD drive.
This happened to me, still does, wiggling it about after you push the button usually works, and so does turning the xbox over to upright or horizontal position (whatever yours isn't at the time) it's really annoying but a little fiddling aways fixed mine.
I did what Dr Nick suggested for the longest time before it failed to work. Then i had to resort to punching it in the middle of the chrome insert to get it open. Thank god that one got an rrod and the replacement one didn't have this minor defect.
